Try and burp the trout when they've come up from deep water... Cradle them in the water and whilst your reviving them rub their belly to expel any air they've taken in.. Usually works..

For us in the deep water fishing, the key to preventing the swim bladder from blowing up, is playing them in really slow bro, but we are talking about depths of 25 meters plus, who knows mayby that canal is that deep bro?

Yeah that’s what I thought but I don’t play fish slow, I bring them in a fast as possible. It’s weird though, who knows to be honest

Another excellent video thank you Dylan. Just a question - when fishing the white booby fly, do you fish it on the same dropper to dropshot weight, then 1m trace to the booby (much the same set up you'd use for egg rolling)? I assume the booby fly floats up above the bottom, correct?

I usually prefer egg rolling but am looking for some more sedate methods this winter as I'm awaiting knee surgery (destroyed knee ligaments playing cricket for Canterbury over 50's in February !!). The trout nuggets / booby methods in the bowl look worth a go, plus I've made some floating globugs to try in the same way.

Great video man! i am off to the fish bowl in a couple of weeks and I have picked up some trout nuggets, how long do you leave the nuggets in the water before you put on a new one?

Thanks mate, nice you’ll probably get a few on them. Make sure to use barbless hooks though, that’ll depends if a fish takes the bait mate
