Do you catch Salmon off them is well?

Do you know if there’s still salmon coming in to the harbour? I know the stopped the hatchery a few years back but wondering whether there’s a population that keeps breeding 🤔

How big are the cod you catch there? I keep catching high 20s blueys at boilers point wharf. I’ve also got a few over 33 and a 42cm fat one. It’s a shame because almost all them are just under size

Funny how the mates we go out with start giving coaching lessons on playing a fish. I get it, it is a participation sport, well intended, kinda like cheering a bro on. You can tell a gun fisherman on how calm they stay when the pressures on and the rod work, those short pumps you were using and smooth handling of a big heavy overhead reel are a dead giveaway. No slack line on your watch, hardly surprising given your fresh water background. I'm a salty, but I know the guys who fish fresh water are the artists.

Whilst tieing fly's and get stung by a hook I know it's sharp even if it says it isn't. A few rubs on the hook sides and finish of with a hypodermic point on the outside top bottom of the hook so it doesn't dull or bend over.
