As a MUCH older straight male, I mean like twice your age older ... THANK YOU and your friends and communities for your vids, podcasts, etc. It is such a wonderful learning mechanism for those of us who are straight as it's a world we will never really experience. Education is always beneficial. I'm also happy to see that on here, Tik Tok, wherever that older women reach out to you for advice. One thing your shows, all of you, illustrate is how hard it had to be for gay men and women "back in my day" as they didn't have the Internet, or Porn like today, or hell even any real "Gay" personality on TV. To a degree, your generation has it easier than they did. I feel for them and I hope, like y'all, that they now are finding their true selves and their true happiness. ‘thin line between psychosis and spirituality’ is so relatable. I used to struggle with processing what the difference is between the two - I came to the conclusion that it’s all about perception. People in certain cultures outside the West who experience what the West would call psychosis, experience it more positively, because they’re not treated as mentally ill, or disturbed, or delusional, whereas in the West the spirituality is suppressed in society and we tend to have a harder time with understanding our experiences.

“You gain so much more than you lose.” Hearing that is so transformative and eye opening for me. I haven’t felt safe to come out to my family, I’m 28, but I think I’m reaching that point in my life where I’m not paralyzed with the fear of their reaction anymore. I only hope that I can find that community of people who can enrich and fulfill my life ❤

I love this. I am a late in life lesbian, I think, like you all are saying it is a very unsure experience and I do think it is a lot about normalization. I am actually 51, married with two kids and have just discovered I am gay. Like it was said hindsight is a wild thing. Women of my generation just didn’t really have any examples or support in smaller communities…or most communities. My youth was the time of AIDs, so there was some knowledge of male gay culture but no lesbian community! This podcast is so comforting for me. It gives those of us that never have had any kind of information or acknowledgment of lesbian culture access so thank you so much! I would love to see some even older generation lesbians talk on your program to hear what they have to say about their own youth lesbian cultures or lack thereof? 💜💯💜

My youngest son (11) asked me, after my oldest two children had both come out as various LGBTQ, if he would also be a part of the community since I am and they are too and how did we decide that we were our sexualities. I explained that it wasn't something I could answer for him as to if he would be as well, and that it wasn't a decision but a realization. This has been the best example of that. Thank you ❤

I had my coming out just a while ago when I had my 30th birthday. I always kind of knew that I am also attracted to women, but I never felt safe to actually date women. Somehow it was just "easier" to date men, since it was more accepted by society. It took me a long time to acknowledge that. I am in a relationship with a men now (we've been dating for 4 years) and I've told him just recently that I am also attracted to women. He has been super supportive and we even bought some rainbow accessories for me lol. But still, it's hard because I really wonder what it would be like to be in a relationship with a women and I am scared that I am missing something out. I felt so seen in this podcast! Loved this episode. As a late in life lesbian, I understand everything that goes into the coming out process. I have been out publicly for 33 years and to myself for 36. I always knew I was different, but I didn't have role models to look to. The road to happiness was litered with my broken dreams. In my mid-30s, I decided that my dream of the life I wanted was never going to happen. Then I met her. She had a 14 year old son, married twice to men, and only dated 1 woman (brief relationship that ended badly). At this point, I had resigned myself to just sleeping around and having fun. Now, 23 years later, we are grandmas and have 3 teenagers at home. I almost walked away from her before it ever started because I had already earned a couple toaster ovens (if you are too young to remember, look it up). I am so glad she insisted. She is the love of my life. Keep changing the world because one day, who we love won't matter. What matters is that we love

I have known I'm gay all my life but at 70yr old I finally came out to my daughter and a friend. Now it's a challenge to find a community this time in my life here in Denver. I like women who are into self care and younger than me a bit...more energy! Any advice??

Oh my god what a relief must be to live as freely as you guys! But it also gets me thinking into how important is also the "setting" i.e. place you live to be able to come out without too much negative repercussion. I live in a 3rd world country where being gay is really frowned upon and I have no gay friends that I can trust, or gay family members I can rely upon. If I had any of those I think everything would be easier!

Nobody ever thinks that I’m a lesbian ~ ( not even my family), even though my identical TWIN SISTER is MARRIED to a WOMAN~ and they have children together!! I look and act so emotional, slightly unstable, and feminine~ that guys~ especially simply can’t believe it. I tell them I’m gay~ and they tell me~ oh you are so cute~ so small~ and so adorable🥰!! They tell me that they will be ‘my woman,’ and then they are even MORE attracted/ obsessed with me!! If I have to break up with them because I’m an openly gay woman, and totally confident about it~ they tell me I’m straight but completely CRAZY. I’m like ~ “Mom; you never thought that because Julie ( my twin sister), is gay; we went to her wedding~ and literally watched her cry professing her love for her fiancé, that us being identical twins~ I could possibly be also!?” She is like, ‘We never thought that you could be gay.’ It’s so frustrating and infuriating especially because when my sister ~ who is actually bisexual ( and also likes men), came out, everyone was like ‘Yes~ we totally see it!!’ I actually am NOT bisexual~ have never had those ‘feelings,’ for a man~ yet my family just thinks I am so delicate and fragile~ that I need to be perpetually taken care of ( and want in my heart and soul), to be TAKEN CARE OF by a strong 💪 strapping MALE!! I love women~ but I being so petite~ actually AM attracted only to women who are literally on the larger side~ big, strong, big breasted, and tall ‘mama bears.’ Most of these type of motherly women are totally 💯% heterosexual though. You know the type of woman~ who would be the most natural~ even on demand~ ‘exclusively breastfeeding,’ 🤱🏻mother!? Wish me lots of luck 🍀 here you all ~ on my seemingly impossible journey. Is it your nervous system or your mind? Or your mental health? I think many of us practice denial(just like alcoholics) until we are ready to face the difficult truth that we are gay. We have to overcome the internalized stigma and shaming. I wish I could have heard more about coming out as a spiritual awakening.

I am a little confused here. “If your dates go badly how do you know you like women”????? If you like men or women doesn’t depend on how good or bad your dates or your experiments go. Everyone is different, I know that, but sexual preference, in my opinion, is not a choice, I think you are born with it, at least from my own experience. Nowadays it has become “trendy” to be anything but straight and a lot of people are letting themselves to be “confused”. You either are one or you are not. It’s not something you can choose or change according to how good or bad your “experimentations” go.

What bothered me was that Alix didn't say thank you after being introduced. All the guests usually express their gratitude, saying thank you and thank you for having me. I know they are good friends, but still.
