Can u use photochromic dye this way? Or like whaen u do cells? I wann get into dyeing but wanna have color changing disc if possible. Would love to hear your thoughts and if u think it would work or not. Love the vids been super helpful.

Haven't tried that kind of dye, but if it is made to dye plastic it should work

So nicely done. Spot on! 👌 So what are those paints? Oil or acrylic.. Can acrylic paints even 'permeate' into disc plastics? ..And what is that base white?🙂

Its a paint additive called floetrol mixed with Prochemical and Dye which is a dye specifically for use on plastics.

Just curious about how far away are you hanging your heat lamps to get the good high heat without over cooking the discs?

I have my light hanging from a chain of caribeners so I can adjust the distance as needed.

What dye are you using and what ratio of Floetrol to dye do you use? Mine have been coming out pretty dull and bland

Do you mix floetrol pro chem dye and acetone altogether? If not what’s the ratio of floetrol to dye mix?

Is it just pro chem color mixed with floetrol? Also what type of silicone do you use to get the cells

Prochem dye mixed with floetrol and a few drops of Dimethicone oil

Did u mix the color bottle with the oil or add oil on top while u making the bed. Also can u use like any type of oil, like cooking oil?

How do you avoid having your colors sink into the floetrol?

Some colors will tend to sink while others won't. It's a matter of knowing which ones and avoiding them if they sink. If you really want to use them you can try warming up the floetrol to make it more buoyant.
