Splendor Duel might be better for someone newer to the hobby; It looks less complex than 7 Wonders Duel.

I agree, I'd say Splendor Duel is the more newcomer friendly. Though, both are really amazing! If the theme of 7 Wonders Duel is more interesting to you, I don't think there's anything that will give a newcomer too much trouble 😊

I've played Splendor since and after Splendor Duel it honestly felt like half a game. What it adds makes the game so much better, in my opinion :) Depends what you didn't like about it, I suppose!

@@EmilyandThings "feels like half a game" is a good way of describing it tbh. The decision space just isn't terribly interesting and the board state is too random to make any really crunchy decisions. The core loop of Splendor is fine enough, it's just too shallow... It's honestly similar to what I feel about Sushi Go come to think of it

I was brought here by that browbeating that the strange "expert" who showed up in your video gave you on that other channel, SUSD. I'm on your side about this. I think you were right. I would have remembered you working over at that channel. What was that guy on about? Anyway, great review and it looks like quite a fun game. Would love to check it out.
