Got this little gem last week, I love it! yeah ok it won't split every piece of wood, but this beast does a great job on some pretty challenging hardwood.

Never in my Life I heard a native english speaking person speaking out Ochsenkopf as perfectly as you just did in the Intro.

This ax is not bad. But Ochsenkopf has got axes with a steel hull behind it´s head. It is called "Rotband PLUS Series" and has got a Hickory-stalk. The possibility to break is very reduced. I don´t know if you have seen it, but the product catalog from Ochsenkopf is very big. For me as a professional lumberjack only counts quality and durability. Ash is not a bad wood, but the "standart" axes are in danger beeing damaged by the wood which you wanna split. Thats why I only prefer "RotbandPLUS"-series products..

I really like the maul, but you are right it needs a guard. I have to be accurate with my swing to make sure I don't snap the head clean off. Tha ks for the tip!

Still pleased with this axe? You got the non hickory handle axe right? Any flaws on the handle so far?

Other than not having a shoulder guard, I'd say im pretty satisfied with it. I plan to add that on to avoid future damage. The weight is enough to get thru some nasty wood and doesn't wear me out too quickly as well, so that's a plus.

Haha, du bist aus BW? Lg aus Illertissen, zw. Ulm und MM. Vor 2 Tagen sah ich diese Axt das erst Mal, als (Ex-) Holzer benutz(t)en wir ja Spaltäxte mit 2,5kg, die sahen und sehen bis heute halt so aus wie sie aussehen. Aber die hier ist ja viel hübscher, genau passend zur Iltis/ I.Kanada! Vl hättest n bisle mit der Feile drüber sollen bevor du anfängst?! ;)

Αποτελεσματικό είναι το συγκεκριμένα τσεκούρι, το ερώτημα είναι μπορεί ένας άνθρωπος στην ηλικία Σας να σχίζει π.χ. επαγγελματικά για 4-5 ώρες ημερησίως με τσεκούρι των 2500 gr; Η απάντηση , όλα είναι μια συνήθεια! Το συγκεκριμένο τσεκούρι είναι επώνυμο, παραδοσιακό, καλή επιλογή!!!
