You can unlock the bags, fuel cap and saddle with the “knob” if it is turned to the FSS position unless something happened to that bike. The previous owner probably didn’t want to have to remove the “knob”. The Concours has traction control. The ST1300 has an adjustable saddle to three heights. I own both and like different aspects of each.

I want a 2006 HONDA ST1300, I have done tones of reviews and that bike is built to run for sure, that bike will run close to 1,000,000 miles before a rebuild is required, never skip a fluid change and you will go the distance that the majority of motorcycles won't do, it's up there with the gold wing, I want a bike that is built to outlast me. The absolutely worst motorcycle to buy is definitely a Harley, it vibrates and has too many mechanical issues and way overpriced. You can't ever go wrong with a HONDA.

I have a 2017 Concours 14 that I love owned since new. It has a few mods, power and aesthetics. The full exhaust and custom ecu tune made the bike a easier to manage rocket and the aesthetics got rid of the features that made it look like all the other Concours 14's. I also removed the slipper clutch to make it easier to dust 1k bikes (true story). This bike goes no where slow and cruises at a good speed well over the posted speed limit! I also like that it doesn't have all the latest tech crap on it. I don't need TFT screens, I like analog or other lean angle junk NO THANKS! It's as simple as apple pie and definitely serves its purpose.

I ride my 2012 Concours with a full titanium exhaust and ECU flash with a group in the Chicago area which includes R1's, BMW 1000's, and H2's, and have no trouble keeping up. In fact, some of the guys think I have the fastest bike which is puzzling since my speedo only says 177 mph when I pass them and they can't catch me, later asking if my bike goes 200. This must sound like BS but it's true.

I have an ST1300 but have been looking very closely at the Concourse thinking I might trade for one but I like my ST and would hate to regret trading it away. When I found this video i thought how perfect, just what I need to gain info. But instead I keep reading a bunch of hall monitor dorks hijacking the intent of the video from bike review to concerning themselves with attire which is none of their business. Stay in your lane people and mind your own business! I have literally seen people ride with flip flops on and while it’s incomprehensible to me I know it’s not my place to parent them.

4:50 the Honda has a three height adjustable seat. But surely he knew that, it’s in the manual. You can also select different height front and back, I have mine top at front, middle at rear, which makes for a much more comfortable tour.

I have the St1300 and I love it..The St1300 is an excellent motorcycle, I ride about 15,000 km a year. the engine was created for the road and for people who like long drives. It is very safe and comfortable, only the heat of the engine is a problem in the summer, but that's ok for me.

I have a first year '03 ST and a '13 FJR I picked up last summer. The ST is surprisingly capable on the backroads more than most people might think, I know it feels really planted when I'm pushing it, and it inspires more confidence than the FJR. I also like the extended range you get from a 29L tank.

I own a 2005 Pan, with 126,000ks on the clock. Only thing I've had to do besides normal servicing, is replace the fork seals at 96,000ks. A very smooth, quiet, comfortable, good handling bike. And with a 29litre tank, can easily achieve 500k range without even thinking about refuelling👍

I bought my '03 ST with 88K for $3500CDN. I just serviced with currently 122K and got a valve service, brake/clutch flush, coolant, rear hub, air filter, plugs as well as a general service. On alot of bikes that much of an outlay might not be advisable, but these things are honestly built like a Swiss watch, they just don't go wrong.

They are different kinds of sport tourers in all honesty. The Honda engineers never really from year to year went with the market want by consumers. What Honda needs to do is bring the ST back with 1400 or more cc's with electronic on the fly suspension, cruise, heated grips, LED lighting, analog/digital speedo, top case std. color keyed, 6 spd. tranny, heated seat hook up ready to go (we all know people get aftermarket seating), USB ports external and in glove box, less chinsy fairing with those little black fasteners but heavier duty with easy access to oil and other fluid ports, three color options (red, dark blue, silver/grey). It is sad Yamaha is the only sport touring still in the game! Those other crotch rockets with outfitted hard bags aren't true sport tourers folks!

At least gloves would be a good choice. There’s plenty of good summer gear out there too. And the problem is ‘influencers’ set the standard for less mature riders. His choice but the example set becomes his responsibility if learner riders think it’s ok to copy.

We all know the importance of safety and gear but not all of us are comfortable in a full riding suit. Unless your wearing good riding gear, then a long sleeve shirt and jeans are going to protect you at all.

6:12 just a tip for getting better views…. You HAVE to show more of the another camera facing outwards from your helmet … This blind sided view makes everyone want to just skip thru too much of what you’d want…. Just a suggestion. Be blessed, and be safe Just mostly having to just stare at a face with a tinted windshield is weird …. Prolly should only show yourself 25% of the time..

Regardless of the weather (or heat, humidity, etc.) you're risking a LOT by wearing inappropriate gear. Granted, it's your skin and bones and hospital bill (of course), but when you post videos that thousands may watch (especially younger, inexperienced, or impressionable riders) then you're doing us all a tremendous disservice by not wearing protective gear. Even if you're an OUTSTANDING and incredibly safe rider there's always the (strong) possibility of being struck or clipped by a moronic cager, unfortunately. Otherwise, top-notch information. Thanks for making the effort.

Nah, I owned a FJR. It stalled out on me at the top of Independence Pass in Colorado. Got back home to Houston and sold it. Years later bought the Concours 14. It's much more comfortable and quite a bit faster than the FJR. Went over several Passes in Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado last month with no altitude/stalling issues. Ran like a scalded dog the entire trip.

Funny thing is, I actually got rid of my Concours and replaced it with a new FJR. The FJR isn’t quite as fast, but it’s just a much better performing and more refined motorcycle. Concours can’t compete with the new electronics of FJR

@@oychoppa Did you notice the 6 speed on the Concours gears are a lot tighter than the 5 speed on the FJR meaning you're shifting more on the Connie?.. If your Concours was the '11 and up the 6th gear Is Awesome on the freeways very tall like 3500rpms at 80mph. I think the FJR revs higher on the freeway with its 5 speed..
@oychoppa
@oychoppa Жыл бұрын
Yes, it was a 2019 Connie. 6th gear was a lazy interstate gear. If you wanted to top it out you would need to be in 5th. The 2014 FJR ‘s gears are slightly taller and I really don’t find myself looking for 6th. In 2015 Yammi added a 6th gear to FJR. Although I’ve never actually ridden one, I’ve read that 1’st gear is really short. They also had some bugs in the tranny when it was first introduced. That’s why I bought a 2014 with 5 gears instead of 6
