I have been getting a lot of people through Facebook or KZfaq saying I’m the most negative person in the hobby. Guess what? I don’t care. I am advocating for people who enjoy cards and want to simply build their collections, kids whose parents don’t have a lot of money, etc. I am tired of the greed, flippers, breakers, scammers, and awful quality from manufacturers while they price gouge everyone. I will gladly continue ranting about nonsense in the hobby until 90% of the problems are solved. If it drives prices down or at least helps to continue the downfall, I view that as a win so people can buy more and actually enjoy collecting again!

If you buy one for 350 and yet to sell it for 750, that's your right to do so... If 750 is too high then the market will let it sit there, that's everyone's choice too.. That price in Facebook can also be negotiated down.. he might just be shooting high, but if he can break even or make a small profit you'd be surprised he might take 400 if offered

I've been collecting trading cards for over 35 years and it's the best "investment" I've ever made. My investment has paid huge dividends in the form of FUN. Many people I know achieved their fun "investing" in hanging out at the bars and clubs with friends, going to sporting events, playing video games, traveling, gambling at the casino, etc., and all they have to show for it is memories. I actually have tangible product to show for it, some of which might actually be worth a lot of extra money when it's all said and done and I decide to part ways with it. Bottom line, if you can't have fun collecting cards without seeing your collection appreciate in value, then it might not be the "investment" for you.

The wax prices are too moon when they say the market is all down on singles not only that but people’s greed has also played a big role.

I had not collected sport cards since my Grant Hill rookie card. It's been a while. Now my son is showing interest in basketball, so I thought it'd be cool to introduce him to the hobby. My mind is blown. Multiple variations for the same card. Multiple specialty cards for the same player. Insane prices for not that many cards. I saw a guy crack open a "case" of maybe 8 cards for $17,000. WTF. He did his best to sell the suspense, but he pulled some scrubs out of that case. Only 1 seemed worthwhile - a Jokic with a game worn jersey patch. Nice - but not 17K nice. I've enjoyed explaining the history to my son, explaining the potential of future stars, the greatness of former and current stars. The rabbit holes I've fallen down reacquainting myself with the hobby has been jarring. I'll just hold fast to the experience and sentimental memories I'll share with my son. This other stuff is for the birds.

I don't buy retail boxes. I simply by bulk lots and put together sets. If I want a star or rookie, I'll shop around.

You gotta get out of this modern shit,. Just hearing the names of these players and parallels make me nauseous. 1800s - 1950s is where real card collecting is at.

I like the look of modern cards, especially when they use retro designs (that sounds oxymoronic). But the only ones I'll buy are autos of older players like Mike Schmidt. I won't touch the current players, especially with 50,000 variations of each card.

I bought a 2021 classics herbert 1/1 non auto for $350 in early 2022. Sold it 6 months later for $650. Guess I'm a scumbag.

Thats ebay for u , just gotta sift thru the crap man. I only collect Jordan so the outrageous prices are common when i search his cards. There is however plenty of deals ive stole some great inserts on auction this whole year. Added plenty of cards to my collection for dirt cheap prices

The card flippers /big spenders are literally killing the hobby. I remember chasing my favorite players and selling the rest i didnt want for a reasonable price. The hobby has changed so much. Im literally selling my collection and trying another hobby

I sold a 2023 Bowman Elly De La Cruz Gold Shimmer PSA 10 for a little over $500 when all his cards were outragiously priced. My exact card sold 2 weeks later for $1500 Best Offer Accepted (originally $2500)!! Now you can get the same card for under $300. It's crazy. Thanks for your video!

GREAT VIDEO AS ALWAYS. IT HONESTLY SUCKS FOR BOTH PARTIES ASSUMING THAT EVERYONE IS BEING HONEST. THE WORST IS THAT THE COURIER COULDNT CARE LESS.

If you are not doing your due diligence before you purchase a card and you overpay, you have NO ONE to blame but yourself. If you don’t like the asking price of a card, make an offer or MOVE ON. If someone can sell a card for a lot more than YOU sold it for or they bought it for, then good for them. Folks are in this “hobby” for many different reasons and purpose. Just because they may not align with yours, doesn’t mean this hobby is getting worse.

Loading/unloading packages and mail is a very rushed job to have. Everything is high paced. While they don’t intentionally damage packages, it will happen given the time frame they have to load trucks. Always over protect items if selling online

So you mad at house flippers and used car salesmen too? I get what you’re saying but people have a vision to buy and sell for a profit. If people refuse to overpay they won’t have much profit and the majority will stop. But if people are willing to keep paying a premium for these cars then the middlemen will continue.

Sold my entire collection a year ago and bailed on the hobby. Now I could care less about the scams and I have saved so much money. Breakers and frauds are a cancer to the hobby and I think they succeeded in killing it as thousands of ppl are getting out.

What's happening bro I have been collecting sports cards for 45 years and I have never liked grading companies and I may be wrong for filling that way!! I fill like there's a monopoly being run on that subject and that is all I'm going to say about it but I get your point on people trying to blow the prices up for card's that aren't what the Market Movers say they're worth!

Honestly I’ve lost bids on something on eBay and a week later seen it listed for more from the winning bidder. Not much you can do really. Also I think ppl can list/ask whatever they want for their cards. In the end it’ll either sell or not.

I see this over priced crap daily and what’s really messed up is people who don’t collect out here running to the stores to buy up all the sealed boxes and post them online for double and sometimes triple what it originally costs no way will I ever buy a box like that if I can’t get it for the original price it’s a pass for me they can have it I can always go to my lcs and find something I like for a completely fair price
