I’ve bought countless $1 card lots (essentially worth nothing) and 99% of them have come in bubble wrap, card board and tight packaging😂😂😂 this eBay seller is delusional

Seeing no packs of cards at all in Target, etc is what will be the final nail. I bought 2 packs the other day, lucked upon being there when the guy was stocking shelves. Went back the next day to get another pack and everything was gone!! There is no way that many collectors bought them all in a day. Some douchebag probably gobbled them all up at once.

I agree with you, it’s unfortunate not everyone takes the time and consideration. That being said you gotta pick your battles wisely, not everything is worth your energy. My pa once told me when you argue with a fool that people from afar can’t tell who the fool is.

Sad part is I’ve seen worse shipped to me. Now i tell them to ship it wrapped in bubble wrap. If they don’t want to do it I’ll get a refund and buy elsewhere.

I don’t care how much the item is worth I always ship with care. I’ve had many, many people leave me positive feedback for my extra effort in safely shipping. I have however got a message saying I overly packaged an item before. I was careful with how I responded but I’d rather get bitched at for overly packing than under lol

I disagree with you 100%. Just because you do something one way way doesn’t mean that’s the only way. The card arrived undamaged so obviously his method worked… it would be one thing if he just thru it in a unpadded envelope but come on man..there is way worse sellers out there

I completely agree. You can pay to insure the card in case it does get damaged. As long as there has been precautions taken to protect the card, there’s no reason to wrap the card in 10 million forms of protection. Of course, both parties are going to be compensated, but bubble mailer, cardboard, bubble sleeve, etc don’t need to be in one package. You might as well ask for sellers to increase prices to cover costs of shipping materials while you’re at it. The shipping cost at checkout only covers the label, not anything else needed to ship out the card.

That to me sounds like a S***y person move to me. Never did I state what he did was right, bc he’s either knew to this or just neglectful. Which is terrible anyway you look at it. But two wrongs don’t make a right. And as you stated, the card was fine, so you choose to feed off of his negativity and become just as bad as he is. But hey we all make mistakes

I stopped collecting when Topps RUINED the Baseball card hobby years and years ago. I will eventually just sell off everything I have except my tobacco and early 1900's cards. The card hobby is GARBAGE NOW and that really sucks but everything has it's day.

How would psa know that a card was unslabbed and then sent back unless it was a numbered or rare card? Or perhaps they recognized a flaw or the person's address. That sounds strange they would do that.

You have to get lucky in this hobby (just like when you gamble) but I will say that some cards age better than others. If you bought in 2008 or 2009 you could make a big profit today, but if you just started in the hobby or you just own thousands of wax pack era cards, very tough to make a profit.

It's not the point he's trying to make, he literally explained everything in the video...If you buy a 100$+ card you would expect it to be packaged in a way it can't be damaged or difficult to damage. Simple as that, he didn't leave a negative review just told people that it isn't packaged good, and it wasn't. Someone could of easily dropped it and stepped on it and made the card bend in half but thankfully nothing like that happened.

When I sold cards. I would ship them in a custom-made folded up cardboard sandwich where there's no possibility of damage. Along with being sandwiched between other cards that are also top loaded. As an extra positive experience for the buyer. This is a hobby, and I would treat my buyers like what I would love to get. It's not about making a quick buck for me ever.

… for what it’s worth, I certainly report tons of browser-manipulated listings to eBay = and nothing man. IMO = the only concern they have is their own bottom-dollar. The BIGGER problem is that hobby/industry has been highjacked by the monopoly corporations, PREYING on the young / inexperienced buyers. Very disturbing/ sad 🍻

Well said….. And let’s not forget Sports Card Radio, they aren’t much better. They might act like they are exposing scammers, but work their own brand in = openly admitting to selling out for the right price, call people names, creepy sexual comments about young girls = ONE of the brothers is married with children…. But hey, just some boys talking shop, right 🤨. So even the hobby “watchdogs” aren’t much better. Oh, they toggle between supporting / calling out the folks like Goldin / Brian Gray / etc……. Two-faced, if you will 🍻

The idea of not undercutting other seller's prices is such a bad take. My only goal in the instance of listing a card it to sell that card. If selling it for a lower price than those that are listed gets it sold faster, that is my prerogative. I have no duty to other sellers.

I collected in the early 90s, then didn't buy a pack for almost ten years. Got back into the hobby in the 2010s, but here in Japan where I live now the MLB packs are expensive so I didn't buy that much. I've decided to just buy individual cards instead of gambling on boxes and such. That way I get what I want and can invest my money as the Yen is useless.

Ken Griffey, Frank Thomas, Jim Thorne are all HOF’s, and their rookie cards are worth nothing. When you go to sell cards, it’s not worth the time and energy. Total waste of time.
