Man this brings back memories. I was a freshman in high school when Bill Cowher took over. This was the Steelers team that brought back championship football back to the Steel City. At the time the fans haven't seen a team like this since the 1970's. Man this brings back so many memories!!! Go Steelers!!! PS4L!!!

The thing that made Bill great was he was a players coach but knew when to drop the hammer something Tomlin is clueless about

In my opinion the steelers have been stagnant for 10 yrs with Tomlin the trend will continue its time for change i mean the whole coaching staff and ben they are an anchor to this team

Why does everyone think that Bill Cowher is way better than Mike Tomlin? Their records are practically identical.
@edwardbennett78133 жыл бұрын
Bill didn't allow drama Tomlin loves it the steelers are heading for a rebuild within 2 yrs but rooney will just allow Tomlin to stay shows you the ineptitude which now exists in the in the front office

After years of wandering in a desert, the Steelers cut the bullshit and just ran the football in 1992. It wasn’t pretty or spectacular, but these Steelers needed an identity. It set the tone for the rest of the 90’s. Something these modern Steelers need. They’re too much of a country club. Dump the stupid ass shotgun and get back to fundamentals.

That fake punt call in Houston was one of the biggest plays in team history. That got the Cowher era off on the right foot. If they don't do that, they probably lose that game, and they don't get the momentum going that they did that year.

Yes, although I think they were better in 1994 than 1992. But yeah sucks Steelers didn’t win a Super Bowl in the 1990s with Rod Woodson and Kevin Greene and guys like that. I feel like they had a better chance of winning a Super Bowl than any of the Killer B seasons.

@SteelerFanInRI3 жыл бұрын
I mean, were they really? Zero Cowher teams were as good as Tomlin's 2008 squad (except maybe 2001 or 2004); the same people that pine for Cowher while constantly moaning about Tomlin (despite never being worse than 8-8 with him) were definitely calling for Cowher's head in the late '90s after a string of Championship game choke jobs and losing seasons, which, 2 MORE home choke jobs in the championship round happened even after that...it's just funny how time erased all criticism of Cowher and everyone acts like he was perfect when he wasn't and the same exact problems you have with Tomlin were present with Bill.
