Got a 74 with a bolt on. Kick only. Fuel on cpl primes, turn on ignition, kick her through. Mine starts 1st or 2and kick. All about how the carb works.

4 clothes pegs help hold pushrod tubes up .I leave a slight bit of slop in my rear exhaust push rod due to its lack of cooling

The key to getting it to kickstart easy is to have a good battery, a good new coil and a electronic ignition. It will fire first kick every time. Next year it won't fire is easy. Buy a new coil lol

Hello from Ky Brother,.. I have just bought my 1st Harley ever. Its a 68 900cc sportster. I have a video of it on my page. I have a question.. well actually a few. I am new to working on Bikes and mine is the Points non-magneto version. I was wondering if you had a bike there that has the old distributor points ignition, and perhaps you could make a video on the proper way to time it please? Ive been replacing parts left and right on it and ill keep this bike forever. I have no desire to even look at another bike so Id really appreciate any help. I do have a manual but having a visual hands on description would be awesome. I dont want to mess my bike up. It was running before I had to pull the dis. out to get the cam cover off to replace the gasket. thanks for any help I love your videos! - Tim

Starting process stock 68 XLCH...fuel on, choke on, retard spark on Magneto, finger on kill button, kick twice, finger off kill button and kick hard all the way through! Just straddle the bike so you don’t snap off the kickstand!
