I agree that cutting off the top of the original bowl was the way to go. The mother of pearl was overpowering and needed to be subdued, which the removal of the top inch accomplished. The globes remind me of maraschino cherries and definitely add interest to the bowl. It ended up being a very nice bowl.

Beautiful piece, Jim. I think I preferred it taller. Reminded me of a dessert my grandmother always made for the holidays which was topped with whipped cream and cherries. It's weird what will set off the algorithms. A 2 part video I did contained the word "refurbishing" in the titles and it (until recently) far outpaced the others I'd done.

Jim, I can’t stop thinking that “life is just a bowl of cherries” at this point in your KZfaq journey. Stunning piece! The mother of pearl is just awesome with the wood, and this little globes are so great in this composition. Congrats to the lucky winner! I think you did right to cut off that ring. Maybe you can put LEDs around the backside of the resin ring and do a lamp with it - insert it with the LEDs in a piece of walnut or something like that. It would look absolutely wonderful! Jim another amazing bowl. I think cutting it down was a good decision even if it meant cutting into the globes. . Yes it's true a piece can make you crazy sometimes. It ain't done till ya say it's done is my motto. . Congrats to the winner of 80 thousand give away. Thanks again. Be well.

Your creativity always amazes me. I’d call this piece “Follow the bouncing ball.” Congratulations on reaching 80K. I did not get notification of the wine glass. Going to watch it now. No wonder last Friday seemed different! No Jim! Designer Epoxy

Jim I think this bowl looks amazing. As you were turning it at the beginning of this video I thought the bowl was to tall. Now after you cut it down I think it looks so much better. Hard decision, but the right one.

I did like it as well before the haircut but I'm also a crafter and know what it's like if you're not 100% happy with the final result. I think the colour of the globes was probably my favourite part of the whole lovely piece.

@@SpragueWoodturning very welcome. I come from a long line of woodworkers. Wheelwrights crossing the plains and somehow the woodworking craft, in a different form though, still lives on in my family.

I love how you keep trying new things - and they always seem turn out! Before you cut the bowl down, I saw a big bowl of whipped cream with fruit mixed in. 🤣 I like the cut down version you decided on in the end better because it now highlights those beautiful orbs. Very cool. To answer your question about last weeks video: I checked my notifications to be sure and I did get my notification. I do have notifications set to ' all ', maybe that makes a difference. Thanks for another great video and congratulations to the winner. 🤩
