Spring sights and sounds around our little homestead. And some of what we've been up to recently.
**********↓ Click Show More For More Info! ↓**********
Join Fy Nyth on social media - mewe.com/i/fynyth ! If you are new to my channel and Fy Nyth (Welsh for "My Nest") in general, welcome! I'm Ariel. Along with my husband Clay, our dogs, cats, bees, and some poultry, we live in a tiny house on wheels in the mountains of western Wyoming and are working on setting into our own new little homestead. I've been living this lifestyle since 2014 and my wonderful partner has joined me more recently. What will you find if you follow the channel and watch the videos?
Real life here. I try to show the good and the bad. The ups and the downs. What works, and what doesn't. The parts I love (most of it!), and the things that suck. Not just the showroom version of a tiny house, but everyday life in a tiny house. Not just the romantic idea of "homesteading" or off grid life, but the everyday details of this lifestyle. We split wood for heat, fill the water tank from a gravity fed spring, and attempt to grow as much of our own food as possible between the weather and wildlife here. I hope to help others learn from mistakes and make life just a little easier for anyone else interested in pursuing a similar lifestyle.
We live in a somewhat harsh and cold climate, but enjoy the stunning scenery and wildlife that we are surrounded by on a daily basis. You'll also see videos of the nature and wildlife around my home. If you are interested in my photography or purchasing a photo, I'd love if you follow that over at mewe.com/join/arielcelestepho... or ArielCelestePhotography.zenfolio.com!

During my 20 years in Wyoming, I learned to appreciate spring. It was slow and painful, like a mother giving birth, but the beauty and excitement was so rewarding.

Looks like your critters are thriving as are your trees and yard. You and Clay look comfortable on the swing. It’s such a pleasure to see your place growing and green. We have had geese come down our little river this morning. We have birds, squirrels and a rabbit come to our back yard this morning. I just love Spring. Thank you for sharing your Wyoming home…from east Tennessee.

It has been a pleasure all of these years to watch your videos, Ariel! Thank you!! PS : A regenerative farmer in my home state of North Carolina, once told me that "Birds on your property clean the air, and mushrooms clean the earth". PSS : I just love to see a hard working man relaxing with a lapful of kittens. XOXOXO God bless you and Clay and the whole family.

Stunning photography, Airel. The Aurora , the yellow & black bird, the moon were special treats. I thought it was Santa flying across the moon when the clouds were drifting past! 😂 Thank you for sharing your beautiful May. Sadly, all of our spring flowers are long gone in SW Virginia. Loved the little kitties but hope they all get "fixed". Hopefully there's a nearby Angel of Assisi or such that can perform it much less expensively. I took in a number of strays and was able to use their services at about 1/4 of the cost of a vet office. Thanks again for sharing your beautiful Wyoming Spring/Winter/Spring again with us! ❤😊

When it does finally mature more it will be really something. Also very special to see how content and happy all the critters are. A terrific assortment! Still tagging along and keeping up with your super channel after many years and enjoying it even more. Clay has truly added something special to your way of living... Looking forward to any of your animal/bird photography as your work is always terrific. Enjoy all the extra perks like the northern lights rainbows etc that bring you extra smiles. I've previously watched this spring at 6000' . This afternoon I viewed while you put the new solar clothes dryer. It looked to be a fun & worthwhile project. What I especially enjoyed was the Red Wing Blackbirds trilling in the background. I takes me back to the days on my grandparent's farm in eastern North Dakota. Love it!

I love watching you and the memories you bring of my dear blue eyed Tennessean mother-in-law, always busy springcleaning, cooking, baking, canning beans, freezing corn, tending her garden. Me, a city raised latina expert in Panama Canal matters married to her only son. I would visit middle Tenn. almost every year and our kids who learned to swim or scubadive in our Pacific or Caribbean beaches also loved the fall and winters with their American uncles and cousins on hayrides and snow sledding down the hills. Here I am now 85, retired, using a walker, do not travel anymore, waking up with the noisiest parakeets eating the most delicious mangos from my 50 year old tree. After I finish my tropical fresh fruit salad of papaya, watermelon, bananas, mango, sit in my porch, check my youtube subscriptions and .....Good! my friends from Wyoming are in! Enjoying your work, the cats, dogs, belly rubs, the chicks, ducks, the creek ..... Close my eyes and can see her apple trees, her garden full of potatoes, corn, beans and feel her love to this spanish speaking Panamanian married to her only son! (I lesrned my english in an american missionary school that came to Panama in 1906 during the construction of the canal)

Such an inspiring & informative video again from you two. Thankyou Clay & Ariel, you're such a lovely couple espousing such a versatile lifestyle of hard work with a joy of living in Gods glorious creation way up in the mountains,where the climate is so incredibly opposite to suburbia in the sub tropics of S.E.Queensland Australia. I'm so glad the early decades of my life were on the land in cooler climes; that I was blessed to be immersed in farm life and all that entailed back in the 1950s. It's lovely to see how nicely you've settled in together in the more spacious surrounds of Clays shed. Nothing overly huge nor an excess of modern conveniences, but simply a comfortable living space for 2 abd 2 dogs and several cats n kittens. I'm always happy to see your ducks enjoying the water flowing in the creek ; so many dont hradp the fact that ducks are water fowl and the operative word there is "WATER"!! It pains me greatly when these would-be hobby farmers, newly arrived from their city jobs and suburban livestyles, dont grasp the difference between land fowl ie chickens, turkeys, etc and water fowl ie ducks, geese etc . Suffice to say I could waste a big bunch of time simply watching and hearing your ducks enjoying their natural habitat. The total of your existence; that we get a glimpse of each week, is an absolute blessing to me. Please don't ever stop, or think for one minute you're not appreciated !!!!!! 🇦🇺🤗💞🙏👍👌✌️👏✝️🇺🇸

Those stills you showed of the Aurora Borealis in Wyoming are the best, most widespread colors & vivid reds I've ever seen! And you have attracted so many birds! Their sounds thrill me too I've been enjoying feeding the birds here, for nearly 20 yrs, until recently. Now I have squirrels getting into the feeders due to trees & shrubs getting larger, allowing them to easily leap onto the feeder on top of a 5' high metal pole, which also has a holder for a block of suet, which gets desimated by the squirrels in one or two days now. I used to enjoy watchIng the woodpeckers! Then too, whatever spills onto the ground used to attract Mourning Doves & many other birds who enjoy ground feeding. Now everything on the ground gets eaten by more squirrels, raccoons, chipmunks & groundhogs! And recently, some strong critters have been getting into the big galvanized pails with lids. It's likely the raccoons. They & squirrels ate most of two 20# bags of black oil sunflower seeds, & a big bag of cracked corn stored in two other pails, to be mixed once I use up the blended seeds in a 3rd pail. It cost me a lot. I haven't been going back there as much lately, so by the time I noticed, they ate over 40# of seeds & corn I was so discouraged!! Now I've given up for a while. It's Sumner so my beloved Cardinals, Bluejays, Titmouse, Chicadees, & others are out foraging for their food. My temporary fix was to turn a slightly larger galvanized pail down over the last one, covered & still filled with mixed seeds 'till I can cut back a big shrub rose & shorten the limbs on a Kousa Dogwood tree. I'll probably have to relocate the feeder. It's great to see how you've accomplished so much there, working together. How beautiful life is when you can enjoy it with the one you love.❤
@FyNyth

That's too bad. I wonder if you have any trees or posts that you could do a pulley line from for the feeders? That's what I had to do when I lived in the clearing in the woods or the squirrels would empty everything in seconds. It did work for many years and they could only eat whatever the birds spilled down onto the ground. I also needed it because of the bears, but it worked really well for the squirrels too. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/o8WelpeFns6aqaM.html

How much (if anything) do you feed the cats? Do they just hunt? Do you supplement when there are babies or pg momma?
