Avvy conditions were off the charts when John Niddrie, Brian Nesbitt, Pat Bates and I left for a ski week in the northern Purcell Range of British Columbia. Luckily, cool overnight temperatures tightened up the snowpack, offering rapid transit on firm schnee. Which emboldened us to ski any slope that would appeal to yer garden variety septuagenarian.
On a long day tour we followed wolverine tracks to a stellar overlook of the Selkirks. A couple evenings later, who should wander almost up to the hut window but Ms Wolverine. She paused briefly as if to consider crashing the party, decided we were way too tame to hang out with, did a pirouette and dissolved seamlessly into the forest. 😸😹🙀
