Yes sir, I have one more video that will post, essentially the initially impressions. It will post before deer camp, the fly and other mods will be shown when I get back from deer camp. I have it completely dried out and packed up for deer camp. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment and I hope you have a. blessed weekend. Dale

Springbar, wake up! We want that rainfly. Besides the rain, I'm assuming that it will keep the tent somewhat cooler. Not to mention the UV protection.

I just got back home from camping a couple of nights in warmer temps than normal for me camping. It got up to the low to mid 90's during the day as well as it cooled off to low 70's at night, I didnt even think about taking the rain fly this trip just for the trying to keep my packing as low as possible. I will set this back up soon for a comparison on the hot weather and see if it does help keep it cooler. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment and I hope you have a blessed weekend. dale

Looking forward to seeing the set up and all . Sounds like a great tent and I also like the idea of a rain fly. I’m surprised the flag ship model doesn’t have a rain fly but I don’t think most canvas tents do. Definitely something to look into. Thanks for the info Dale , I hope you have a blessed weekend as you get closer to your hunting trip.

Yes sir, your exactly right, most canvas tents to not have rain flies, they are for the most part well suited for rain and my fear is those slow soaking three four day rains and my stuff being wet and still have a week and half left at camp hahaha. I will finish the other video soon sir and have it uploaded. The flagship, is bigger standing height, meaning the walls are more vertical that this tent but essentially the same floor space. I think this one is perfect for two with a dog and a fireplace in it ,it also has room on either side of the fire place for a mini bathroom (for the ladies) and a buddy heater, (for the morning coffee) and not wanting to start a fire, I hope you all have a blessed weekend my friend . Great video Dale. I’m going to re-post it on my Facebook page. Good information for anyone looking for a good winter tent. I know that warm wood stove would be a welcome relief after a long cold and wet day in the woods. Hope you and your family are well.

I’m thinking about getting a Kodiak 10 x 10 or the 10 x 14 Flex-Bow Deluxe model. But I don’t want to cut a hole in the tent for the WINNERWELL stove. Do for that reason, I’m considering the Springbar Classic Jack 140 Because like you said there’s more to it. Although last year I watched a DIY ON how to do it, and they did use fire retardant material. But that’s a lot of work!!!

Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. I will go onto say I am a leather working and have been for almost 30 years. I have made lots of leather and canvas products. With that said. This one coming from the factory designed for a fire box was a huge selling point for me. I know I have the tools and skills to put in a leather jack. However this from the factory seamed to be a safer option. Thanks again for taking the time to watch and comment and I hope you have a blessed week. Dale.

Hey Dale, when you do your next video will you be showing setting up the stove as well ? I’ve been looking at both Springbar and Winterwell since this video and want to see the setup, also can you still use the storm fly with the hot tent setup and stove ? I am really thinking about going this route but also thinking the Highline 8 at 10’ x 14’ might be more appropriate for me Karen and Bodhi. Really glad I saw this video.

Thank you so much for your support of our little channel sir and I hope you have a blessed weekend. Dale

If the difference in price was not to be considered. Would you pick the classic 140 for ease of set up or the flagship Skyliner?

For me personally, the Flag Ship does not have the option for the rain fly to go over the top and after being at camp, in a tent, (Not this one) that leaked from slow cold soaking rain, and all my stuff getting wet and no way to dry it out cut my trip short. I truly wanted to the flagship, but for me, the deal breaker was knowing my main two week trip every year is always a mystery with the weather. Some years its nice, 2 weeks no rain at all, sometimes, its mixed with rain for day after day, sometimes, its sleeting or snowing etc. So for me, that is why I went with the Classic jack, was specifically for the added protection of the rain fly that is made specifically for this tent. I initially was going to purchase the flagship, not that money isn't an issue, but the rain fly will not work on the flagship, because the roof line etc is larger and this rain fly wont work on it, and they do not make the rain fly of this one. I truly hope this helps answer your question,. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment and I hope you have a blessed week. If you have time, keep us posted on which one you end up going with. Dale

I enjoyed the video great job ! Does anyone know the difference between the Highline 6 and the classic jack100 ? Thanks in advance
@HeartlandMakesAndOutdoors
@HeartlandMakesAndOutdoors 7 ай бұрын
Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment, The best I can tell about the Jack 100 is it is essentially made in the same factory as mine,. It too comes from over seas and it is a 10X10 foot print. The basic tent is made from the same canvas as. mine as far as roof and walls and the tow windows on the the ends of the tent appear to be smaller triangle shaped windows. They are a bit larger on the classic jack 140 ideal for camping in hotter weather with more air flow, however , I would bet you could still camp comfortably In the one you are looking at in hotter temps by leaving the larger door window etc open for more air if needed as well. However to be more specific to your question, it looks to me like the Highland 6 is a green canvas and the classic jack 100 is the tan just like mine is in this video, so in short, I believe it just to be a color of canvas difference otherwise they are the same tent. Again, I dont work there, but that is the only difference I see in the two. Thanks again for taking the time to watch and comment and I hope you have a blessed week. Dale PS, keep us posted on what you decide. Dale

Skyliner - 8.5oz walls, 10.1oz roof Classic Jack 140 - 8.5oz walls, 10.1oz roof Specs are right on their website, canvas is NOT any heavier on the skyliner. The canvas on both USA & China sewn tents is the same.

Dang, I wonder where I got that from, I sure thought I read or someone told me the Skyliner was heavier canvas on at the very least the hot tent side? Maybe in thier video, who knows, I will correct in the future videos, again, thank you for taking the time to help me out. Dale

@@HeartlandMakesAndOutdoors Yes on the Skyliner on the big panel / section behind where the stove goes the canvas is heavier than the rest of the tent. I've been doing tons of reading on the Springbar tents trying to decide which one would be best for me. Any of them, they make are great tents!! I enjoyed your video on the classic jack 140, I was not trying to stir up anything. As of now I'm leaning more towards buying a classic jack 140 over the Skyliner. I don't need a tent until next year, so I might change my mind?
@HeartlandMakesAndOutdoors
@HeartlandMakesAndOutdoors 8 ай бұрын
@@Mg-1234x3 Oh buddy, I didnt think you was trying to stir anything up, it is a simple mistake on my part, I knew that I had seen or read the skyline was heavier on the side where the fireplace will go. and in my mind I changed it on all the side walls hahaha, Im a dork and It was my mistake, and I appreciate you helping point that out, so no worries at all, I did go back and pin. a comment on all of them so far. I will say this, I am leaving in about 45 minutes, I will be out of town for mine of 14 days camping out of this tent I have. I will be able to give you a much better review after the 14 days Buster and I will be living out of it at camp. Especially since you don't need it for. a year. Again, in my mind, had they made the rain fly for the skyline, I am 90% sure that would be the tent I have, since they dont, I am happy with the one I have so far and that 900 bucks can go a long way in camp fees etc. I am not trying to change your mind, I am trying to keep my mind right hahha. I will be back around thanksgiving and I plan to do a lot of videos on this trip, camping out of it, see how it holds up in wind rain and it is already cold there, so we will get to use the wood burning stove a lot more often then I did here. Thank you so much for taking the time to come back and visit with me and I hope you have a blessed week. I totally get the trying to do as much research as a guy can get etc. I think you are right on track. On thing I will point out quickly is I dont recall on the skyliner if the portion of the wall where the flange for the chimney stove pipe comes out or not, I will say when I rolled this one up for the initial review packing it for this trip I am leaving on today, I am glad that portion of the wall on the classic jack comes out so easily zipper in sipper out, that is much easier than trying to unbolt the flange for the heat shield pipe as it exits, but again, I can't recall how that wall on the skyliner addresses that , ? so something to think about, I can see them bolts potentially causing issues in the tent if it was left in and rolled up with that flange on if that makes sense? I will get back with you when I return. Have a blessed week. Dale
