Good review! I agree with everything you said. I love mine. I've carried it a ton since I got it a couple months ago. Got mine from Knifejoy. I also have the older Stretch in ZDP-189, but I like this straight back version much better. It doesn't cut any different, it just looks better lol. It holds an edge for a long time. I've only had to sharpen it once in all that time. I love this steel, and love this knife! I've tried both a Lynch clip as well as MXG gear on various Spydercos, and took them off and put the spoon clip back on. The spoon clip falls where I can't even feel it in hand, where the deep carry ones I do feel, and in heavy prolonged use creates a hot spot for me.

I, too, have the older Stretch in ZDP-189, and also an Endura and Police 4 both in K390. The Endura is maybe my second favorite knife to carry behind only my Manix 2 in S110V. K390 is a wonderful steel and the straight spine Stretch is a lot better looking than the original (granted, it was designed as a folding hunter, at which it functions very well). I don’t think you could go wrong with this model, since the ergonomics should be better than on the Endura which doesn’t have a forward finger choil.

Thanks for the video. I've had mine for just over a month now and was curious what other people experiences were in regards to quality control. Some of the issues I've noticed with mine: Minor vertical blade play One screw for the pocket clip was stripped The lockbar face that meets the blade was ground on the angle. As a result only 25% of the lockbar contacts the blade when locked. Cannot get bade to center, tried all of the usual tricks short of a full disassembly and swapping the washers to opposite sides. I have no horizontal blade play but have to have my pivot tighter than yours. Enough where mine doesn't free drop but is still fairly smooth to open. My blade on the other hand came hair shaving sharp. All in all I think it's a great knife for $140 but still a step or two below Spyderco's Golden counterparts in regards to fit & finish and quality control.

I'm to where I want backlock! I'm sick of framlock and linerlock. I think I would dig button compression lock, but it's not on Canis and I'm not doing Smock. Hope I get this one. I got the one in VG-10.

I like backlocks. I like the stretch and I like the steel. The price is just about ok but I wish it were a touch lighter. I'll probably get one. The thing is I have the Manix2 and I have to justify having both knives.

For me, sharpening seemed very comparable to S30V. That is to say, it takes some time, but it's not particularly challenging.

Hopefully my wharncliffe k390 dragonfly will ship soon🤷🏻‍♂️

My only bitch about mine is the stupid Boye Dent, really wish Spyderco would get rid of that on all of their lock back blades.

Very honest review, that's what I value most. I recently bought a police 4 in K390 and it's a super slicer, the edge last very long and it hasn't created any patine on it yet, but I really don't mind, I think it gives the knife more character, like those leather jackets with wrinkles on them, I like them more with them than without... Thanks for your review!

Was your bevel uneven ? Like 14° on one side / 17° on the other ? Other than that it cut like a monster. It came very sharp, with a Corse edge. I assume belt sharpened with a 220-240 belt then stropped on a leather belt. It was toothy with a somewhat polished bevel..... Either way it's got my edge now.

Good review mate. This stretch looks way better the the endela. It has a better blade to handle fit when open and closed. There looks to be a lot more steel around the pivot pin which would make it stronger as well as more pleasing to look at , no gaps.
