I kinda avoided it for a few days, and watched it like in three days, peppered through work xD But yeah, I kinda never really want to watch gane of thrones b/c of how heavily spoiled it was on social media through its run.

I got so tired seeing and hearing nothing but Squid Games to the point i decided to watch it and see if it lives up to the Internet and social media hype. I only really liked one of the episodes but the rest was uninteresting, uninspiring, meh or any other word that fits this feeling. And some things were so predictable that it gave me a feeling of deja vu even though I never watch movies/shows like this or the Saw movies.

Cuz you think it's like music, right? "It must be popular because it's bland or plain." LOL that applies to ao much music. But yeah soon as I saw the trailer initially I had to see it

They talked about everything being fair and equal for all players but yet they turn the lights off on the guy that happened to know about glass, plus they let the snake tattoo guy change the marble game just because he was about to lose, so how was that fair or equal to the guy that was winning? If you liked it that much I highly recommend Kaiji Ultimate Survivor. Many, and I mean MANY, of the things in Squid Game were directly lifted from Kaiji. If it wasnt for the creator openly saying he was a fan of Kaiji id say he ripped it off, thats how much its like Kaiji. Honestly imo, and the opinion of everyone who ive seen talk about Squid Game who has also seen Kaiji, Squid Game is a very poorly done Kaiji. With that being said Kaiji is so amazing that even a poorly done version of it like Squid Game is a pretty damn good show. Again I highly recommend you check it out if you liked Squid Game.

Plot hole though - Almost all of the panels left would have been tempered glass - When these shatter they break into granules that don't cause much damage to skin; not massive shards. The last three were at least 4 panels away from the nearest possible 'normal' glass panel. It seems very unlikely that she could have been injured like that.

Yea that was tough. I remember thinking "I better enjoy this while it lasts because this is probably the best episode"

Not sure what dubs you heard but it’s not even close. Most professional dubs done in the recent years are great. The script and acting for vips was just awful in comparison to the rest of the acting in the show.

Ending twist ruined it for me, made a 9.6./show(-0.4 because of the vips) too a 8/10

They had backgrounds on every character participating in the games. If they wanted to handicap that specific player, then they should have adjusted the lighting from the start. They had over 450 participants. What’s “unfair” about one of those players having experience with glass versus nearly every player having experience with games that someone like Ali had never heard of? Adjusting the lighting at the very end of the game was cheap.

They've all influenced each other in some ways and inspire other authors in there works. That happens all the time but somehow Squid Game stood out and became popular for a reason. I love Alice in Borderland. In fact it was through my enjoyment of watching AiB, patiently awaiting the second season that attracted me to Squid Game.

After they reach the beach the show became never ending drama. Also trash ending. I don't recommend.

hard to be emotional when you saw all of it coming from a mile away and once you see the pairing you know exactly whats gonna happen. Good episode though despite its flaws.

Once you saw the pairs it was more than obvious every A character was paired with a B character. they outcome was right in your face the whole episode, so yeah wasn't realy emotional. Like you sead good episode ideed, but only because of the idea and the game itself. The execustion of that episode was kinda bad.

That part was incredibly bad writing. Felt like they just did it so there can be 2 people and had the glasses guy kill her for no reason so that youd see him as a bad guy. The last 2 episodes were atrocious.

@@MatthewCJoy he's been a bad guy since the first episode. Constantly showing that all he cared about was getting out himself. Game 2 clearly showed that, same with game 4. I am not saying that the injury wasn't convenient and contrived, but there is logic behind getting rid of the walkway, if not the time limit is meaningless or would require guns again. Blowing up the bridge is just more logical in that sense.

Theres only like 20-30 people who really were assholes ( murderers, rapists and other criminals) the rest were only bad because of circumstance, and The 80-90 people who died in the first game we did not get to know, so whe dont really know who they were

Plus you missed the point of the scene in the 2nd episode, from the beginning he was teaming up with people he thought were reliable, thats why he didnt share info about the second game with the others. He wanted to get rid of the dead weight that was brought on by Gi-Hun, someone who he thought would be a reliable partner in the beginning. He eventually realized Gi-Hun could be a huge liability with how naive he was being about the games. He expected Gi-Hun to choose a smart shape and the old man and Ali to choose bad ones, thats why he was so suprised when he said umbrella. When he was about to tell Gi-Hun he then realized "wait a minute they arent the liability, he is" thats why he said "nevermind." After seeing how dependable Ali could be despite not having experience with Korean games he shifted his focus to trying to make him his primary partner. Sang-Woo was just playing the game and trying to have valuable partners while never actively killing anyone himself unless it was literally a life or death situation between him and them. Thats why even though the old man was a liability to him he just said everyone should split up and not "hey old man, you should choose the umbrella." If you think he was somehow a bad guy then youd probably do very poorly in the meta gaming of Squid Game.

His behavior was sus from the start. Each time he spoke about playing games in the past made me think of the beginning of the first episode. It HAD to be him. So, I don't think it was that bad of a "twist" ending since it confirmed what I gathered through context clues all along.

The part that made me suspicious was when everyone was killing each other in the room. Frontman sees the old man is actually scared and stops the game just for him. I was like wait a minute!!!!

No way that's going to work. He spoke with the front man on the phone and basically announced himself to him. The front man recognized him. They have detailed files on him. They have advanced tracking equipment to identify each contestant (hidden behind the ear, if you recall). Gi-Hun is no undercover policeman with training, he's just a goofball. No way he'll be able to pull off what the policeman did.

As far as I’m concerned, if you don’t see someone die then they aren’t dead. We saw him get shot, and we heard him fall in water, but none of that means he’s dead - especially since he was shot exactly where his brother was shot - the same brother that didn’t die from his gunshot wound. If they make a season 2, I have no doubt that the cop’s part of the story isn’t over just yet.

Yes she did a really good job. The actor is like one of the top models in Korea. For people that speak Korean it is interesting because when she is in scenes talking to her brother she speaks with a north korean accent, but when she is around other players she hides her north korean accent from them because they are all south korean.

Honestly i found everying that happened in the show to be very predictable and obvious. That being said I liked it, even though while being inspired by others in its genre it literally blatantly copied Kaiji CONSTANTLY.

The VIPs are probably the least interesting people in the entire show. Just ultra rich morons. I hated pretty much every scene they were in. I think there was something indicating that other versions of this game were going on in other countries, we could learn more about the front man, I dunno if the cliff diver is really gone, we can see what the winner will do next, we could see just how deep the corruption runs, since they don't just magically find all this info on people, how is the info gathered, how are the people in red selected, were they potential contestants but they selected red instead of blue in the initial game? There is a lot of lore stuff to work with. A second season could be half flashbacks and half people trying to take the whole thing down in the present day etc. Whole lot to work with if they want to.

I thought the VIPs were past winners of the game, since the guy in the bank was talking about if he wanted to join the VIPs to invest his money. But wtf do I know lol

There are way more kids games than 6... they can definitely make a second season around the rest of the games. There will still be mystery especially if we are looking at a new cast of characters going through the game so it will be a fresh new perspective.

Male and Female shared the same toilet? (6) How the fuck no one mention about the missing VIP? NO ONE EVEN RAISE A SLIGHTEST CONCERN THAT HE IS DISAPPEARING FOR A LONG TIME (7) Why the fuck did they have to explode the glasses so hard on that glass stage such that it will potentially injure or kill their participants? It totally contradicts to the game's essence of being "fair"
