Black Bear Forge

While todays project is called a squirrel cooker, I have never seen anyone actually cooking a squirrel on one. Typically this small forged fork and ground stake are simply used for cooking small pieces of meat.
Thank you for watching. Black Bear Forge is a small one person shop located in Southern Colorado.

I’m thinking a design modification might be to leave the ring open enough that the fork can be disengaged easily without having to pull it all the way through the ring to reduce bare hand exposure to the heat source.

It's fairly easy to use the horn of an anvil like yours to do the ring, however, those of us that can't afford a REAL anvil and are forced to use a Harbor Freight "anvil" are out of luck as the "horn" is not a horn, at all but, a screwy shaped end to an otherwise sort of usable anvil. SO, we have to use a form, a piece of pipe or whatever is handy and round and close to the right size for this operation. They work, but, I wish I could afford a REAL anvil!
