Oh thanks so much for the scene at 2:55. My home in sri lanka is like 40kms away from Kandy, so the Temple of the Tooth is a frequent of mine but I havent got the chance to see that room. Now I know its a shrine room with a gold statue.

Yaiyasmin First I want to thank you for making this video! But herewith I like to point out about one mispresentation in the dialogue of this video. This mentions about the sacred Tooth Relic being smuggled to Sri Lanka. Actually it was not smuggled, but brought from India under camouflage for safety reasons. Sorry about the late comment. Thank you again for your effort!

it was free as i know. Might be you took a guide.... and It's a rare privilege to go inside the place where cascate on. yeah it is very magical place some times i used to sit in front of the place where cascate on and spending hours and hours wishing things and thinking about myself and problems i have. u knw what that makes me like weightless to ma mind

kaneperera007 Yes it is free for worshippers but they charge for tourists, it's a nice place at the top of a nice city!

Nice video. I'm from kandy and it's a pity that you have to pay to go in to the temple. But I guess the money is used for maintenance, salaries and day to day expenses. However that's how I like to think. But in reality the temple administration should have lot of money through their land and various investments.

vindikad I never had to pay to enter the Temple. The only thing I had to pay a small fee for, was the museum inside the Temple.

Clair Chen I didn't get the impression that it's especially dangerous or unsafe. We were traveling just us 2 girls most of the time and it was fine, I guess it depends on how comfortable or experienced you are with travel, and which areas you go to. I'm from Spain and Sweden (mixed origin but lived in those two countries), thank you :)

People don't pay to go there. It's a place of worship. Possibly someone just stole your money then.

Rasika Kelum No they didn't steal our money, there was a sign that said tourists have to pay and worshippers go for free. We're not buddhists so we didn't go there to worship, just as tourists

Yaiyasmin WOW! It must be a new rule then. Really sad something like that happening. Everyone must have equal right to go there Buddhist or not if one abiding by the dress code they should be allowed free of any charge.
