Here's everything you need to pack a carry on bag for Sri Lanka. For my trip, I traveled with a TOPO 30L carry on backpack and packed for 28 days of hiking, beaches, and the cities around Sri Lanka. We drove our (rented) tuk tuk through the Cultural Triangle, into the Highlands, and to the South Coast. Basically, we drove from Negombo to Anuradhapura to Kandy, Ella, Nuwara Eliya, and finally Weligama and the south coast. Over 1300 kms of mountains, beaches, safari parks, and more!
Packing everything in a small backpack really does make your trip easier-especially in Sri Lanka. No matter how you travel (tuk tuk, scooter, taxi, bus, or train) you'll want a lean mean bag for easy daily travel. Trust me.
