Good practice for new botanists is making potent produce without the 'seedless' trait. No mutagen required! Build up a basic seed stock of what you want to produce, robust harvest one plant to max strength, then plant a bunch of basic ones, and attempt to swab over the high potency, using a single swab for each receiving plant. If you're lucky, you'll get a plant with all base stats except for max potency. Keep your produce organized by plant, and test each for seeds! Can you find a plant with naturally high yield or grow speed to swap on too? Just don't make flour-apples like I did... and don't grow tomatoes around security.
