You need to lower the ceiling if you want to cut the transients. Threshold and Ceiling are separate for versatility I suppose.

Ceiling and treshold needs to have the same value for the brick-wall thing 🎶 So when lowering the treshold you have to grab the ceiling node but when raising it you have to grab the actual treshold node instead. Any way to link them?

did you notice there's a ceiling dial on the x-limit which would eventually bring down the max output in a brickwall limiter-way? And also that smart comp does add 7 db of gain in your example but x-limit does not - the 'threshold' totally is not a hard brickwall limiter (and other than many limiters does not add gain), so if you're not running into the ceiling as hot as with the smart comp you'll obviously will get results being as different as you are getting them

yep...I love this guy but MANY tubers just dont use REAL instruments played live by incredibly dedicated and talented AND committed musicians. Rule of thumb: whatever time you spend on electronic music...double that time by playing an acoustic instrument...OR ANY traditional instrument.

It is all too common for people to misinterpret our willingness to work on this kind of project as foolish obsequiousness - instead, we’ll knock ourselves out from sheer curiosity and love of the art. I would enjoy elaborating on this, but ain’t nobody got time for that (do you know the meme?) I tried to install Luna. But it doesn’t like my version of MacOS. Hey, I’m only like two versions back - and if If I “upgrade” I introduce new incompatibilities to my system. So let’s put it on Windows? Nope. Not unless you enjoy excruciating pain. I feel like UAD has had its run. And like so many companies the original vision gets lost. Now, the goal seems to be to sandwich their customers into a new business model - one I never would have signed up for in the first place. It is clear to me that UAD knows that folks are moving away from expensive hardware and they are scrambling to find a way to keep their customers “plugged in”. When a company rep is so hostile to a member of the audio community it tells me there is trouble at home. I got fed up with Avid for pretty much the same sort of arrogant attitude. I absolutely loved your video on finding a replacement for Vitamin. That’s how you do it!

Have you never used a limiter before? Raise the input gain or lower the ceiling or lower the threshold then you’ll see it work.

How do you want a limiter to have an attack? It doesn't make sense!

AOM invisible limiter, IK Stels and Fab are best of all. SSL plugins are total bullshit kurde!

This is a great plugin to use in individual tracks to tame peaks and transients. But this plugin is made for real musicians playing real music (with real instruments) - Your drum example in this video is nothing else than an artifical created loop - and what you call "bass" here in this video has nothing at all to do with a bass. This is not a bass but just another boring artificial loop. Sad that there are so many people out there who can´t afford a real bass player or drummer and even dont hear the difference between real and artificial sound. The SSL X-Limit is a very good plugin for people producing real music.
