Written by the great W. C. Handy.
My grandmother, a lifelong pianist, organist, and music teacher, requested that I arrange this tune for her 90th birthday this year. Happy birthday, Grandma Ruth! Performed on a 1965 Harmony H-165 rebuilt by Morris Rowell at Nature's Harmony Guitars.
Equipment/Techniques:
Recorded on a Zoom H2 with a Gutmann windscreen and a little shock mount. Mic stand is an AirTurn goSTAND.
Filmed on a Canon EOS R with an RF 35mm lens.
Mixed in Pro Tools.
Filming and editing by Kelly Oden. Edited in Adobe Premiere Pro.

Just think what that would have sounded like in a tightly, acoustic controlled studio with 40 re-takes and endless overdubs under the magical hands and ears of a master audio engineer . . . That's how the 'guitar gods' get their sound. Josh sits cross-legged on the roof in one take with a single mic in the open air. Oh yeah . . . he also plays banjo, mandolin, bass, ukulele, and fiddle. He sings. He writes. He composes. He takes the back seat and accompanies others. He shares thru instruction. Just wow!

Stunned. Astonished. Speechless. I thought, many years ago, that all the gods of the guitar had been identified. I could hardly have been more wrong. Technically flawless. Very much more to the point, musically a limitless delight. And such pleasure taken. Left reeling in wonder. What a supreme achievement..
