I was channel surfing tonight and stumbled into Austin City Limits tonight and I am seeing St. Vincent for the first time. Holy crap!!! What a unique sound and talent in this group. And a beautiful, talented front woman💪💪💪Reminds me of the first time I saw Grace Potter and the Nocturnals randomly on Austin City Limits. I was so blown away by Grace Potter that night. Grace and the band was so great sounding. I am truly impressed by what I'm watching right now. You can't beat Austin City Limits for finding a unique sounding band that SOMEHOW you have never heard of.

Very true. Annie made a fan of me with her older material because I liked the sincerity (especially if you watch her older stuff live, like the DUMBO sessions), but with each album, she changed her sound and evolved, so I re-listen to them often. Each one satisfies a mood for me. This new album is pretty different, and I like it. It satisfies a different mood. It's fiercer, more experimental, and there's plenty more guitar (which Annie seemed to want to get back to). She's one of the few artists choosing to explore their style, and partially why she's my favorite artist. I'm excited for what she comes up with next.

True. Still the most viewed vid on the official channel tho, and one of the most plays on Spotify. The comments are like "i don't like this song, I don't like her music, i don't understand this" like ok??????? Don't watch it? I don't understand why you feel the need to add that comment in the first place, especially when there's already 1000+ comments saying the same thing. St. Vincent is quite popular, so obviously people do still like her music. No need for negativity.

david simms How about the robotic manner of the people who lap up anything that has the art school stamp of approval? This track has nothing on most of St. Vincent's stuff and it's almost aggressively annoying.

It makes people uncomfortable and that's why they dislike it. She pushes boundaries like nobody else does. SpookyApparation- it sucks you don't like it. I've followed Clark her entire career and I think it's some of her best material. I wasn't a huge fan of Strange Mercy but each to their own :)

I can't believe I found this video! Saw this years ago waiting in line at a theme park somewhere, but I couldn't hear the audio. All I remembered about it was a lady singing while looking up and to the side and people marching with the camera pretty far away. I found it really captivating and wanted to watch the full thing, but I couldn't find it. Of course it would be St. Vincent making such a cool video!

Well it's definitely not POP, nor rock either. "Alternative", maybe, but alternative to what? It also sounds a little like "new wave" (which is "new" since 1978). Well, I can tell you one thing for sure, it's jolly good fucking MUSIC
