In this golf vlog we head out to do some thrifting for golf clubs. We found some strange old golf clubs and some rare golf clubs that PGA Tour players used to fight over. We then take those golf clubs out to the golf course to try them out! What golf clubs did we find? Let's find out!

From what I have found on the net, the Spalding Persimmonite woods are in fact made from persimmon wood and not plastic. I have seen several of them for sale online on EBAY. Hope you can hit that club well when you try it out. Happy golfing and thrifting to you both! 😊

Persimmonite was a thermoplastic resin. A player named Johnny Palmer had a model with his name on the driver. Cool find.

Had to dig around to find just wth is Persimmonite: "The use of Cycolac was very common in store line clubs of the late 60s and early 70s. Spalding called their version "Persimmonite." Northwestern, MacGregor and Kroydon/Ram had their versions as well (the MacGregor models were some of the ugliest golf clubs of all time!)." So, molded plastic. Better living through chemistry! 😉🤪

FYI - PERSIMMONITE - was a Trademark of the SPALDING & EVENFLO COMPANIES, INC. The PERSIMMONITE mark was filed in the category of Ropes, Cordage and Fiber Products. Thus, the "plastic" head as suggested, probably cyclolac.

How much longer does this course have to finish it construction? Seems like its been going on forever. Riverside Golf course in San Antonio, Texas (where I live) will be closed for about nine months for renovation. It was closed for this renovation on November 28th. I cant wait to go back and play this course after its completed renovation. Best of everything to you both with your golfing and thrifting! Happy Holidays to you both as well!

One of my regular thrift stores has the Adam’s tight lies 1,3,5,9 woods for sale, and I think the 7 might be there too. I was thinking about picking them up.. they want $25 for the bundle. And I picked up a new red/black Adam’s tight lies stand bag for $20, mainly because I needed another bag to keep clubs in.

Persimmonite was just plastic. All the big companies had a cheap plastic head wood in the early to mid 60's.

Persomonite was PLASTIC resin that they tried to get going. I had a starter set in the 60's and all the woods were that material. Spaulding was the one promoting them with Bob Goalby and also with ladies sets.
