Ever since Shadofax96 posted video of this truck just over 5 years ago, I have wanted to see it in person. Due to its previous routes being lost to VVS, I didnt know where it might collect currently so for the longest time, I never tried finding it. Fairly recently I saw a picture of this truck on Flickr and it was said to have been in Diamond Bar on a Monday. I was quite excited as Diamond Bar wasnt too far from my old house. But before I had a chance to go find it, I ended up moving 60 miles south to where I am now. So finally, Bryn and myself managed to motivate Jared into waking up early, waiting outside the yard in which it calls home, and following it to route which sure enough was in Diamond Bar. After talking to the driver, we were initially told that we were not to film, but after talking with supervisors we gained the privilege to film this truck. This day went perfect for us, which rarely happens so it was awesome that we got both trucks we set out to film, filmed by 11 or so in the morning.
I want to thank the driver for being so nice and letting us tag along for a while to get some nice, HD footage of this truck.
And its a damn good thing we took this matter seriously when we did, because there are 2 brand new (Eww) McNeilus (Double Eww) rear loaders that will be taking the place of these trucks any day now. I am not looking forward to that at all, and no I will not be filming those any time within the next 5 years lol
I thought it was funny how they gave out a cart with no catch bar on a semi-automated route..(4:07) forces him to pull the recyclables out by hand..
Oh, and it has been pointed out to me that this is my 300th video. Wasnt planned, but there you go... 300. LOL
