How does a singer this skilled, this young, come out of deeply rural prairie Canada, 160 km from Winnipeg, a city of like half a million people? Born in Morocco, parents immigrated to Canada when she was 1 yr old. 1 older and 1 younger sister. She's skilled on 4 instruments, self-trained vocally apparently, is in third year of her computer engineering degree (suspended when she signed with Atlantic records, she's working on completing it remotely), etc. The girl is insanely accomplished.
