When I told her, she was insulted that I wouldn't want to say my goodbyes and express my eternal love for her at the end. I told her, I'll do that before she puts Stairway on! I also have to come up with some memorable final last words. Maybe, I'll say "Led Zep Forever" OR. "The Stairway is Calling Me"

I am 66 years old and I have advanced lung cancer, I don’t have much longer to go. I never had the chance to see them live but they were the music of my formative years. I’m still an old hippie and will die as such. I find a great deal of comfort watching The Song Remains The Same, a reminder of a more gentle and peaceful time, full of hope that human beings never allowed to happen. I’ll be off to my own Bron-Y-Yur soon. 🤝🤝

I was 16 and sitting with a friend who was playing this on his guitar when he said, "I want this song played at my funeral". A month later he died using inhalants. I couldn't listen to this song there after. I'm 63 now and just stumbled across this on You Tube. I've watched it 6 times in a row now. I'm crying, for several reasons, I can't explain it. I'm just glad I found it and am okay with leaving the ON SWITCH on.

Im sorry for your loss, I played it at my mom’s funeral last year June , she was 2 months away of being 70. She introduced me to this band when I was a kiddo. Still the best rock group ever. She was a hippie in the 70s , loved life, cared 1000% for my brother and me . Good and bad times she was always there. Supporting and understanding even when life situations didn’t made sense. I would go steal bill gates all his money if this would just make me able to just have a phone call with her. Keep it strong man. The music helps grieving. Have a good day wherever you are in the world.

My guitar teacher from my teen years recently passed away from cancer. He taught me how to play "Stairway to Heaven" at a lesson, when I was trying to play it. He also showed me different ways to have fun playing around with it. When I played it with another musician, I said that I play it a bit differently. My friend said that he thought I played it better than Jimmy Page. When I told my guitar teacher the story, he pointed out that Jimmy Page never played it the same way twice.

I hadn't caught up with Zep, yet, unfortunately, or I coulda been there. A HS friend finally played "Whole Lotta Love" for me in '77, when most of my musical mind was on sex, drugs, and dancing at Studio 54 to Donna Summer between sitting inside the massive woofers on the dance floor in the days of cocaine and quaaludes, seriously in love with dance expression, and, being 16, newly 6'2", and not bad looking, having a ton of fun (and a WHOLE lotta love :) ), but not exactly the right place to hear Zep. ;) :D

I have heard this solo hundreds, if not thousands of times. It is hands down the best one. He plays the notes cleanly and his rhythm with bonzo is fantastic. Earth is not millions of years old. In fact earth is about 7000 years old. That’s a fact. The age of the earth according to science was determined by using carbon dating as well as layering in soil as well as assumptions on the creation and time needed to fossilise certain things like for example oil or the “creation” of diamonds. Carbon dating is inherently flawed because in order for it to work you need certain conditions that cannot change. As science has no way of knowing what the atmosphere was like even 200 years ago, the decay of neutrons is immeasurable in the same way. Anyway, done get lied to!

I was fortunate enough to see them live the night of April 12, 1977 in Bloomington MN. They were extremely late getting in that evening from Chicago due to weather and the crowd was getting restless. No warm up band of course and they played a full 3 hour set. Just an amazing point in time to be alive.

I still remember when my best friend died our sophomore year at 16 in a car crash at his funeral they played this live version of Stairway to Heaven and it was so beautiful when I found it on KZfaq it got added to my playlist and I’ve played it over a thousand times and it makes me think of my buddy every time. Words can’t describe the perfection it makes me feel so weirdly at peace. When I’m taking my last breathes I want to listen to this. Led Zeppelin is amazing but this is by far my favorite song. Since I’ve been loving you is second.

I’m 70 years old and I was at this show at MSG in 1973 and Robert Plant wasn’t wearing a sock in his ripped jeans at the crotch; I had orchestra seats 10th row center, so I had a great view💯% The three nights at MSG were filmed and became the movie The Song Remains The Same and when the film premiered in New York City, I attended the first night of the showing and I was looking for myself when the cameras showed the audience seated in the orchestra but the camera was too fast for me to recognize myself, great show I’ll never forget that night 💯%

@@moi-ev3pi I completely understand the “sloppiness” if this where a classical music recital he would definitely get some points off for not staying true to the original, but this is rock and roll, if you wanna hear perfect and neat listen to the studio version, you call it sloppiness I call it improvisation, and it’s truly is improv he comes up with these licks on spot every time they are unique, I’d rather listen to a his playing style than a person playing not per note, he plays with amazing dynamics, if it where sloppy then there would be 5,000 jimmy pages in the world but it’s not, there’s only one jimmy page
