Adorable card, Kelly. Yes, I knew the whole nursery rhyme. The version I learned is "the little dog laughed to see such a sight." I'm so thankful that you color in the white outline of the die cuts.

I learned it as: “The little dog laughed, To see such sport” Which I believe is the original form. The word ‘sport’ has since been replaced with other words like ‘fun’ or ‘sight’ in different versions depending on the rendition.

"The little dog laughed to see such a sight" is the original, I believe, being 68 yr old myself & that's what I always read to the kiddos. Love to watch your fabulous coloring. Such a cute card!

Hilarious! Yes, I knew the full nursery rhyme. Funny thing: I was humming while I made lunch a while ago and realised I was not humming a song. I listened to what I was humming. I was humming the hourly chimes for - get this - the Cat & Fiddle Arcade clock in Hobart, Tasmania. Obviously there was a clock there, it also played the music, the appropriate characters appeared around the clock using clockwork every hour. May have also been every half hour? Not sure. Anyway, that clock was a distinctive feature of my childhood because I spent my early years in Hobart then moved back to live with Grandma for high school and pretty much stayed in the city until I was 33. The clock disappeared for a while but was later reinstalled, after both the clock and the arcade had maintenance. I think it was taken down then the powers that be realised how popular and iconic it was so they returned it and - eventually - the arcade was roofed with a skylight so it was an all-weather tourist and young families event. So I grew up knowing that nursery rhyme. And 2 days after I was humming the hourly chimes for that clock (that sound just before the nursery rhyme music starts), I saw Trinity Stamp’s new set! Isn’t that funny?

I always said (and heard) “ to see such a sight”. As a side note- my sister gave one of my children a Mother Goose book that had lots of stories or rhymes. I remember finding a lot of them were kinda vicious. I don’t know what Mother Goose was thinking! Maybe she had had some bad days. 🤣 what a cute card though! Well done!

I did know it. "The little dog laughed to see such a sight" is the version I know. Don't be too hard on yourself, girl. I am 10000% sure there is a childrens show that you know the entire theme song to. Or like me when my 10 year old was a baby, I knew EVERY SINGLE word to about 4 episodes of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse that we watched in the car but had NEVER actually seen the episodes.😅😅😂 Mommying is HARD! I applaud that you knew 90% of the nursery rhyme. Absolutely adorable card!! Big Hugs, lots of love!!

This the the poem I learned as a child: "Hey, diddle, diddle," BY MOTHER GOOSE Hey, diddle, diddle, The cat and the fiddle, The cow jumped over the moon; The little dog laughed To see such sport, And the dish ran away with the spoon. Of course, I’m 76 years old, so that may explain why I learned the oldest version.

Cute card. I don’t have much need for baby cards any more, though. Yup - I remembered the “little dog laughed to see such sport” part. Side note - I remember when I bought my very first die set - I was VERY disappointed with the white border around the image. I didn’t know that’s how most of them work. Ugh. Years later I bought a Scan n Cut specifically to cut out stamped images and get rid of that white border.

Speaking of alternative nursery rhyme lines, has anyone come across "the animals went in 5 by 5, *they ate each other to stay alive*" 😲?! My brother had a CD of nursery rhymes that we'd listen to whilst travelling; I was 14 at the time n the first time I heard it, it cracked me up n Mum had to play it again, cos she didn't believe me when I told her what it said- she thought I was just trying to upset my (much younger) brothers 😂!
