I think what you may have heard wind up in the background at the beginning was a 16/16 port Sterling M10, sounds very much like one. Sounds like the 10V is a healthy one, and single phase too!

@TheWeatherGuys That's odd, definitely sounded mechanical whatever it is, and apparently omni-directional. That slow, gradual windup is what gave me the idea of it possibly being a Sterling, and the top end pitch is just right for a 16 port one. Could be one hiding somewhere a lot closer than the Newburgh one, but it could be something completely different all together.

@murrfarms The only problem with that theory is the closest Sterling (which is btw 16/16) is about 12 miles away in Newburgh. And the closest siren to this one is 6 miles away or so. And it is a Vortex.

@murrfarms It sounds electronic to me. If you listen real close, you can hear a sudden start up. I have a map from the Daviess County EMA and this is the only siren out in this area. There is a 2001 SRN about 6 miles away in Reed KY (Henderson County) but there are tons of tree and some hills so I truely doubt thats it. Plus, in person it sounded like it was coming from the opposite direction. And across the river is a Model 5 which tests Tiesdays at 6:00 p.m. I honestly have no idea about it.
