I have to admit that a lot of your videos have great audio. Keep up the good work.

I reported to lack of rotation to the EMA... as it turns out, this siren is now privately owned. When the school sold off their building, the siren went with it. The entitled douche wanted to be paid to keep the siren online and wanted a percentage of the electricity to be paid to keep it online.

Does Muncie ever test their system for longer than 20 seconds?
@TheWeatherGuys5 жыл бұрын
Not even by a second.

Not even for SWA?

I dont have a good answer for that. I dont recall them going off last year.

@@amberlynn6914 they didnt sound them at all for SWA week because "They are tested weekly."

It's just as loud as the rest. I was in my car though which blocked some of the sound and the settings on the microphone were lowered just because I didn't know what it would be able to handle!

Well, that comment was from 3 years ago, so some things have changed, but we don't have any 16V1T-B's anywhere in the system. The only battery powered siren in the system is the 2001 in Darmstadt. And the siren at the fair grounds is a 10V1T, not a 10V2T. I know my counties system kiddo, don't tell me I'm wrong because I'm not.
@DSRX10012 жыл бұрын
I think I know why that test seemed so short when I tried to record that Vortex, five months ago. The siren probably got the second activation code but not the first which would also explain the lack of the double activation.

This is awesome! I'm guessing Mt. Vernon has two systems, one for the Whelens and one for the older sirens. Reminds me of Huntingburg which also has two systems. The new ones there also do alert while the old ones do attack.

like it i am going to record a sentry 15v1t on lyod expressway weinbach AVE
@DSRX10012 жыл бұрын
@TheWeatherGuys Yeah, close to Owensboro. The siren is located on Oak Dr. by a trailer park. It didn't blast for long (like 20 seconds) and I don't remember it doing the usual double activation, but I can't prove that since the camera battery died. It was still a cool experience though.
@TheWeatherGuys12 жыл бұрын
@DSRX100 Where did you try to record? Owensboro?
@DSRX10012 жыл бұрын
Good Video!! Always loved Evansville's system, it has good coverage. I wonder if the other Sentry (the one that continues) always does that or if it is a glitch. I tried recording a Whelen Vortex the same day you recorded this but my camcorder died midway and the siren did not go on for long, I guess cause of the high wind.
@murrfarms12 жыл бұрын
@MrSciencetificsasuke Nope, that's the centrifugal switch closing back from the motor reaching a slow enough speed for the springs to close it. This is a single phase 7V8 with a 7.5hp 184T-frame Baldor motor.
@IndyTheGreat12 жыл бұрын
Model 5s are actually quite potent, but compared to the 40v2t which you got the privilege to record it's nothing. This is a Fedelcode which means the louvers have a sharper angle and point the sound far more downwards than a normal Model 5, making this one sound far less potent.
@TheWeatherGuys12 жыл бұрын
@acahurricane1275 Yes
@AmericanSirenProductions12 жыл бұрын
so its still used as a tornado siren
@LouisvilleTorn8o12 жыл бұрын
Sounds kinda like a 2001-SRNB, except that the rotor noise in the background is a different pitch. The wind-down is mellower than a 2001.
@murrfarms12 жыл бұрын
Very interesting, sounds like it's possibly a single phase one! It has that really non-linear windup that is a characteristic of repulsion-induction single phase motors, and it doesn't peak anywhere near what your average three phase 16 port M-10 does.
@IndyTheGreat13 жыл бұрын
@form109 This siren has the same number as ports as the T-128. The T-128 has the same decibel rating as the 2001, but because of its lower pitch it would certainly carry further. That, and the fact that it sounds so much scarier and less annoying than the 2001 makes it a much much better siren. I LIKE the T-128, but I HATE the 2001.

Model 5's always make killer echos. BTW that lower louver angle probably has a lot to do with the sould level.
