Unfortunately we live in a time of internet trolls with daddy issues and wannabe fans who would 0/10 on a Trek trivia. So a progressive and representative show like Discovery can not get the credit and recognition it deserves.

The Librarian reminds me of "Miss Minutes" from Loki and the Time Authority. Since L'ak and Moll didn't actually get the clue about the library, she must have provided the Breen with some way to track the spore drive jumps. That would explain the Breen ships firing on Discovery in the Badlands

the whole episode is a homage to J.L.Borges and specially to his infinite "library of Babel" and a bit to "the garden of the forking paths"

Last week when they said badlands, the “member berries” worked on me and I thought “what if they do a DS9 fly by?” Props to STD for making the top 10. I definitely didn’t think we were dealing with something even close to that.

While this is a pretty good season it seems the writers have made a mockery of warp speed. The basic advantage of the spore drive is speed but it seems now the Breen can get to HQ (which mush have been thousands of light years away) in a few hours. In TNG we saw that such distances would take years. Even the escape pod with Moll seemed to have no problem getting to where the Discovery was going. I understand we need to "go with the flow" to some expect with Science Fiction writing but a little more consistency would help.

Haven’t seen any episodes this season but my thoughts in response to your video: The archive interior evokes a bit of M.C. Escher with the repeating patterns and semi-surreal geometry imho. The librarian’s apparent quirkiness could be a lesson in “don’t judge a book by its cover” perhaps? I expect the ISS Enterprise to swoop in a la cavalry at the final confrontation; having been fully 32nd century-ified. I plan on buying the DVDs and watching in time but I don’t love the look of 32nd century starships or the overpowered tech (triple taps, programmable matter, etc) as I feel it alters the stakes of the story. We don’t know enough about the other bridge crew either as some have already pointed out. Thanks again for the fun content. I like your “bullet points” introduction.

I’m a librarian and I can say this is an accurate representation. We are multitudes of diverse types, flighty is one of them. The wizen, stern school teacher stereotype is outdated and frankly offensive. Im glad they didn’t go that way.

Episode 6 disappointed. 5 Towers. They couldn't beam into the 4 dead towers and avoid interacting with inhabitants??? Didn't see HOW they got the next piece? Did i miss that?

Well do us all a favor and not watch the show and stop commentingally on the show that you absolutely hate is annoying. You complained show how disrespectful you are to all the fan bases cuz we have to hear you complain how much you hate the show most people just don't watch it and find a show they like you go out of your way to make us hear your complaints why cuz there's an absolutely nothing you can do about the show because it isn't just show you don't have a right to tell people what they can and cannot do so why are you forcing us to hear how much you hate this show

If Paramount gets sold, hopefully under new leadership, Star Trek will be a little bit better. Heard that Sony and Apollo are in the works of purchasing Paramount. Paramount productions, they do need more creativity, hope if they do get sold, this can happen.

Who cares at this point? They're giving us filler episodes and these are dumb AF. I've given up on Discovery. It's a shit show and no one cares at this point. Offending Trekkies on purpose has become stale now.

Glad they added a guy! While every guy wants to see hot chicks, they also want to see someone who they see as themselves. That's how TOS cast had such success. If you want to make money, don't expect to make money from poor people unless you can do large volume. While I'm glad they made the cast diverse, it doesn't reflect the audience population. An audience will always project themselves on to some of the characters. If you have a large number of audience members who can't find characters to project onto then the viewership may suffer.

I connected with Spock and Kirk. I like these characters but I don't see myself in any of them. While I enjoy the characters and show, they did get rid of a lot of the characters that I connected with when they got to the new universe.

Seven episodes in and I am still waiting. Just another waste of time. Why did they bother with the ISS Enterprise? Only good thing about this season is the pain in the ass Number one but even he is starting to mellow out. Never mind Star Trek, this is just bad science fiction.

Un unknown South Korean show (Parasyte: The Grey), which is actually pretty good and worth a watch, beat it. With the name recognition Star Trek has this is nothing to be proud of. They should be deeply embarrassed. And none of that "Oh, it's a niche genre show" bollocks, thank you. Parasyte: The grey is a sci-fi/horror show. And look at the number of episodes: 58. Compared to Parasyte: The Grey's 6 episodes. The ratings are based on total watch time. How a unknown show from South Korea (no shade on South Korea, much respect) with only 6 episodes available to watch have a longer total watch time than a Star Trek show with 58 episodes available to watch? In fact, all the nine shows that rated above it have between 6 and 16 episodes available to watch. That is a shameful result. I guess it's true. If you throw enough shit at the wall someone will watch some of it. Not much. But some. Oh, and leave it to the crew of Discovery to get a library destroyed. Losers.
