To me the drones and the desert planet scream the Iconians. Plus the ultimate power they are talking about could easily be Iconian gateway tech.

This Constitution Class is the same ship in the TOS episode “Thoian Web”. The ship was trapped in an area called by Spock as “Interspace” and this ship was named Defiant. Maybe it was a some kind of doorway to the Mirror Universe and it time jumped back 100 years. Then we see this same ship in the Enterprise episode “ In a Mirror Darkly”. So that it leaves this that it can be the same ship or a different ship that is in the Mirror Universe.

I have bagged on this series a lot, despite my nit picking and negativity I am looking forward to this final season. It’s the only live action Trek we have this year (unless we get Section 31) so I want to let the negative stuff go and enjoy this show. 🖖✌️

Looks like they want to make us CRY again. Will be watching because I love the Star Trek universe but I don't expect to be thrill at all. If there is a mystery that I want, it's to be amazed by the script, I very much doubt that.

Yes but Enterprise had 22 Episodes per season which means there was ultimately more episodes of Enterprise than Disco.

I don't think there'll be time travel. I have a feeling that the SNW Starbase 1 clip will be part of flashbacks showing the storyline of how the Defiant ends up in the 32nd century.

One of the episodes is apparently called "Mirrors" which would seem to suggest a MU episode at some point!

The greatest treasure in the galaxy is... Calypso's Discovery lol. The artifact with the books almost looks Suliban, especially the shape. Why is there a Batarian head on an alien jungle? If the reveal is the USS Defiant that was lost in the Mirror Universe, im going to scratch my head, they'd of took it apart to backwards engineer.

I wouldn't be surprised for time travel to be involved in this season and I wouldn't actually be surprised to see some of the crew, but not necessarily all go back permanently to the time of "Strange New Worlds."

I was playing Star Trek Online earlier and I realised something, the multi-eyed head statue is non other than an Iconian Herald, the character I was talking to ingame was Herald of M'Tara (M'Tara'ren) and when I saw him I thought 'wait a minute, I've seen that somewhere before'.

Discovery crew is eventually forced to return to the past because they are too far from both their time and their home universe to maintain cohesion the same way Georgiou had to.

The Guardian of Forever was a portal capable of transporting through space, time and dimension it would seem. What society built it? My guess is this “thing” they’re looking for is Iconian gateway tech but more; go anywhere anytime. The season could feature skipping and hopping around the Trek “multiverse” (as Shax called it) in order to collecting puzzle pieces. It all must tie in with sphere data, Calypso, etc.

Looking forward to this. I love discovery. Like it or not you have Discovery to thank for Picard, Strange new worlds etc coming back. I really dont get the hate sometimes. Its great. Its different. It's not a carbon copy of other Trek Shows and surely thats a good thing. Yes, it's a ship based show where the main characters arent the bridge crew... but why not? A shame to see it end - but hopeful for bigger and better Trek series to come.

For me the hate is directed at the main character. She is anything but calm under pressure, is unprofessional, and just gets under my skin. If you hate her, there is no way to like the show because she is always there. In other star trek, if you dislike a character, you can avoid the 3 episode that focus on them and ignore them. That does not work with Discovery. You have a point about it opening the door for other trek shows that are actually good, I just wish they could have done it without starting off with a divisive, edgy, emotional teenage drama.

@@gjmottet Hate is a very strong word and certainly not one that deserves to be levelled at some light hearted made up sci-fi nonsense. That said, the show is designed to follow the character of Burnham and the significant characters in her orbit and not the main bridge crew. I dont mind the fact she does her own thing, in fact its another reason I like the format where instead of some strait laced by the book goody two shoes in charge of a starship she actually does what she feels needs to be done - again thats a subjective like or dislike I suppose. My only criticism of the character is that she is some kind of all knowing indestructible superwoman - thats a little unrealistic but thats as far as it goes for me.

I thought it would be nice to add a positive comment. I know Discovery has had problems in the past, basically with lousy writing but the writing has improved in the last season and I actually look forward to this next season.

Oh, good! More brain-dead thoughtless pew-pew mystery box Trek (with an actual box this time) with Tilley lecturing us about how great Starfleet is and Burnham crying and being sentimental about characters we don't even know. Kurtzman and the writers really learned their lesson after 4 seasons. LOL!

This series severely deteriorated post season 2. It has departed from a science fiction experience. Very sad. Glad that the Discovery series didn’t hurt the franchise.

I thought it deteriorated as soon as they left the Shenzhou in episode 1 season 1. There was maybe one or two decent episodes last season, but that was it.

Discovery is a great show to me , Even if some people hate it , that doesn't mean that it's a bad show, moral of the story is it is a star trek show , even if it wasn't the fans wanted !

This is so disconnected from what Star Trek used to be. In these past seasons - I think I would say - seldom have I seen a relatively bad story told worse. Glad that a few actually likable characters made it to this final season, but I am glad this is over.

Hopefully the last scene of the final episode of this series, has Zora waking up and realizing that the events of season 3-5 were just really bad dream, the crew never made it alive to the 32nd century and none of those events never happened! This gives the franchise a clean break from this crap shoot of a series and finally explaining Short Treks episode Calypso.

Terrible. Just a mess. The show has been determined from the beginning to be as un-Trek as possible: evil mirror universe Captain, mirror universe queen gets appointed to Section 31, Klingon sex scenes, Klingon medical torture scenes, Lorca's fascist security chief taking a drill to a tardigrade before it thankfully kills her off, the Red Angel, the Burn; on and on. The final season is Indiana Jones and Star Wars meets Trek? Apparently the creators of Discovery don't think people watching a Star Trek show want to see Star Trek. Thank goodness this dreck is over.

this trailer looks nothing like Star Trek ... looks more like Indiana Jones , Star Wars , Tron , and now you say we are getting Mirror Universe Trek this season ??? wow how original that all is .. complete pass ... tell you how this shit show should end .. with all crew on the bridge , the ship gets hit with a torpedo, blows up next to a black hole , and the bits and pieces get sucked into the black hole in a circular pattern , and then with a huge flushing water sound and a fart , Discovery is gone and forgotten quickly by almost everyone in the world .. . .
