This is the opening credits for Star Trek TNG Season 3. It is cut, without re-encoding, from the Blu-Ray episode "Sins of the Father".

Ugh. This has got to be one of the most iconic and elegant opening titles of all time. The flyby at 1:30 absolutely captivated me as a child - even in my youth I recognized that the model would have to be huge to show off such detail. And the moving figures in the observation lounge! And that GORGEOUS french horn countermelody dancing around the main melody? Chills every time.

I'm very similar. I'm not sure my parents were entirely happy that I was watching it at age three, because every once in a while somebody got shot with a phaser or blown up. But they always watched it, it aired before my bedtime, and it had spaceships with glowing lights, so they really couldn't stop me. Now when I see that blue nebula, it's like returning to the beginning of the universe.

My parents had The Best of Both Worlds recorded from TV reruns on a VHS tape when I was a kid, and we would watch it over and over, so this opening is extremely nostalgic to me. I'm an early 2000s kid, but VHSes were still being used at that time (the Lord of the Rings films came out on them).

imo, this arrangement is the best out of seasons 1-5: less strings and more horns, the credit flybys have deep bass rumbles, and the final warp out has a massive boom in time with the music that gives me chills every time!

Galaxy class Starships could be powerful behemoths if they had warp cores capable of producing 10 billion terawatts of power, all civilian facilities were replaced with 10 million terawatt regenerative shield generators, added an aft torpedo launcher on deck 42 right below the warp nacelles, replaced photon torpedoes with quantum torpedoes and added upgraded phaser stripes that can fire 10,000 Terawatt beams as well as ablative armor. And an aft torpedo launcher with quantum torpedoes on deck 9 of the saucer section just above the separation line out in front of the main shuttle bay, and heavy duty warp coils that can take a lot of abuse, extensive use and punishment at high warp velocities, a matter and antimatter injection rate of 1 gram every 3 minutes to prevent over heating of the warp core and being able to sustain speeds of up to warp factor 9.975 for extended periods as a regular cruising speed, only able to maintain speeds above warp 9.975 for sort periods lasting several hours in extreme emergencies That could be an Idea for a Star Trek show set in the 2380s centered on modified galaxy class starship with the modifications I mentioned above in a post dominion war federation going through the ups and downs of rebuilding and strengthening their weapons and defenses why’ll still trying to hold on the ideals the federation was built up on, but good luck getting CBS Studios to green light that, their worse then paramount was when they own Star Trek from 1967 to 2006, at least paramount was somewhat open to ideas for new shows even if their was no guarantee of approval. CBS studios they would reject this out of hand without looking at the ideas, do to their It’s their way or the highway kind of attitude, paramount was a little more pragmatic when they owned Star Trek pre 2006 considering the ideas on their own merits then approving them or rejecting them based on how audiences would react to a show, cbs studios couldn’t give a crap

The only real problem I had with "Discovery's" visuals was that it relied too heavily on HDR, which meant that everyone else whose TV or displays didn't have HDR ended up with what you get if you turned up the brightness and contrast too high while watching one of the Abrams "Star Trek" movies. For a show which seemed to take such great pains to all but disavow the Kelvin Universe, they certainly did cater to that same crowd visually.
