Star Wars characters help Secret Santa surprise a teen and his dad who are both fighting cancer

The EastIdahoNews.com team is busy this holiday season helping a local man gift $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho. Secret Santa is a real person who wants to remain anonymous and hopes to bless as many individuals in our community as he can.
Jack Kimpel is a 14-year-old with stage four Medulloblastomais. He was diagnosed six years ago and his father, Ed, is battling stage four colon cancer. Jack was diagnosed five years ago.
Jack is an amazing young man who has faced his cancer with courage and a smile. He has shown so much courage and love for others as he faces each new challenge. He loves Star Wars, Legos and his three little brothers.
Andrea, Jack's mom, holds the family together with love, peace and care. Ed is a teacher and works Monday thru Thursday before having chemotherapy on Friday, which makes him sick all weekend. But he wants to provide for his family and be back in the classroom on Monday.
The Kimpel family hopes to create many sweet memories this Christmas and Secret Santa asked if the East Idaho News elves could go deliver some gifts. We brought along some special guests to make the visit more memorable. Check it out in the video player above!

Giving something to each brother is a huge thing, I know parents of kids with illness and one thing so many say is how it’s impacted the lives of their other kids in ways they often can’t address immediately, like normal family time, or people giving attention and gifts to the sick sibling. These boys seemed happy and the family seemed close but it was awesome to see each child recognized by name 💕

I was diagnosed with Cancer when I was 6yrs old and have been sick with multiple health issues throughout my life but my parents and extended family had 1 rule about me, which is that I'm not special I'm sick so don't treat me any different than my brother. If they want to give me something, they will have to give him something also. Time with them was the greatest thing they could have got us. Time and a (magic) penny from our poppas nose. My aunts and uncles took turns once every 2 months, someone would take me and my brother for the weekend and give them some alone time. I'm 42yrs old and I'm still not special, I'm still just sick. The same rule goes, only now I stay with my brother a weekend a month and give my dad some time to himself. My poppa always said "time together is precious but time alone is priceless".

Yeah this was a really really classy move from them to give each kid $100, which is a LOT to a little kid to spend on toys. This news station and this guy really does a good job of this.

Being that ill has to be unbelievably hard but looking at where they live, walking out your front door and seeing those mountains has to put a smile on your face. The scenery is awe inspiring. Best wishes and Merry Christmas to this family.

I have watched so many of these, but this was the ultimate. When the Storm Troopers showed up, I was done. This family will remember this forever. And Nate, as always, said just the right words. Rest in peace, Jack, you were such a blessing and inspiration to everyone who watched this video. It's hard to type this through tears of learning of your passing. It doesn't seem fair for such a sweet soul to be taken from us this early. I hope everyone who sees this video will be touched by your positive attitude and pleasant demeanor. OMG, this one was BEYOND amazing... something for everybody!! And that kid that keeps talking about him getting $100 in the background and he could buy whatever he wants is so funny and sweet! Dad's face when he found out his wife was getting the new (family) car... the Storm Troopers, all the toys......... I mean this whole video just felt like the best actual Christmas Day ever!! I’ve been battling some health issues over the past several years. It’s been tough on my family. Then I think of a child going through cancer and my heart absolutely collapses. I’d trade any of my good health in a heartbeat to any child if I could. Secret Santa, you are a remarkable individual and Idaho, you’re such a humble and honest place. Wow Secret Santa ! You certainly know how to gift someone who has a special love, and who is in need of a big boost of good cheer! So much suffering for that family with both the father and son fighting Cancer, such a wonderful gift with this car, which will make a huge difference for this beautiful family. Knowing they now have a new reliable car will make a world of difference for them, and take away that stress. The joy in the sons face as all the storm troopers stood with Star Wars gifts for him said it all. I love that when the whole cast of Star Wars characters showed up in the driveway, the father was wearing a Star Wars t-shirt with the Rebel Alliance symbol. Too cute. Clearly the Kimpels are fans! 😁 I thought this was a really lovely video. The children are beyond adorable, beautiful smiles all around, and Im sure they will remember this Christmas for a long time to come. The parents too. I watch these secret Santa videos every day each year. I could never imagine having multiple family members with stage four cancer. The mom is a strong person who is trying to ensure everyone is taken care of. Having the dad and son wear star wars shirts as storm troopers show up is priceless. This family is beyond deserving and I hope that people realize life is precious.
