@@Omhikmat Fully agree with both you and the OP. I don't care about any of the things LH and KK care about. I care about Star Wars canon, its lore, its many characters created in early 90s novels. I care about story, worldbuilding, thoughtful and meaningful action. Star Wars ended in the 20th century. Books and movies from the 21st century are, simply, not Star Wars.

I have a burial marker made for SW. It was part of my teen and young adult life from the beginning. I bought the comic books, built the models, did all that fan stuff because I loved it and was fully invested in it. Double K and her entire brigade of clue less numb nuts laid waste to that entire effort. Thankfully, I still have most of the old media. The headstone is my last tribute to a once beloved thing.

TLJ was the last Star Wars movie that I saw in the theatre. The last Star Wars show I watched was the Obi-Wan show. They've made it clear that even though I grew up loving Star Wars that they don't need nor want my support anymore, so I've moved on from Star Wars. I won't see any movies they put out and I have long since cancelled my Disney +. Next thing you know they'll be saying I am sexist or racist for not buying what they are selling, but I'll point out to them how they made it clear that they didn't need my support.

Old vs. new SW: One thing that suddenly struck me, and that I haven't seen being talked about much, is the fall in quality in character writing and portrayal. Examples: Let's compare how one of the old trilogy rebels (Mon Mothma) and one old imperial (Tarkin) are portrayed, compared to one new rebel (Holdo) and one new First Order (Hux). The first two are portrayed as mature, calm and collected characters, who are both believable as leaders in their resepctive positions. They don't shout, treaten or get emotional. They just do what they are supposed to do: Lead in a calm fashion, even in extremely stressful situations. In short: They are believable as leaders with that kind of responsibility. The last two are portrayed as shouty and emotional. Like the best way to show who is in charge is to make that character shout the loudest or be most emotional. In short: They are not believable as leaders with that kind of responsibility.

Well then why are there no (so far yet) LEGO ACOLYTE sets? I'd rather have those than watch whatever Disney throws at us. Supposedly there are LEGO Skeleton Crew sets coming out, everybody was able to get those designed and almost ready for marketing but they're delayed and so is the show. So why weren't they able to do any product tie-ins for the ACOLYTE.....🤔💥🎯🤷 I blame Disney for all this kerfuffle!

One thing your missing about the latest round of fan accusations towards females in the (online) fandom spaces; is to justify the new level of AI drive intrusive online censorship and control they are about to role out, with the gaming companies being at the fore front of it. I have no interest in seeing this show, but my family may make me. It's gonna be another show where I have to turn my mind off to get through it. Which sucks because I just finished reading Dune. I loved it. I never had to shut my mind off for it or any other SciFi story other than Disney Star Wars. Based on other shows' track record, sitting through this will be painful.

If I want to watch Star Wars, I pop one of the original DVDs in. I dont have Disney+ Its clear to me that anything they produce now is for "newer audiences" The new movies or shows are not for me, and thats fine. They dont want my business, and I dont want their product. Its not controversial. What is controversial, is insulting me for it. Thats where problems arise. That is not how an adult should behave.

There really isn´t much difference between the later Disney SW shows and stuff you could find on fanfic sites online, all about victimized Mary Sues who fall for the bad boys. It's pretty blatant.

If genuinely good stories were written, they would find success with both male and female viewers. It is actually possible to elevate women without disparaging and putting men down. The key lies with good writing and holding firm to universal themes that have made Star Wars beloved for generations. I've always seen Star Wars as a modern day fairy tale set in space, with wide range appeal to both children and adults.
