Elvin - Great question - yes this will work on the Lightning EV. Thankfully with respect to the bed lights and where we connect to power, the EV's are identical to the other trucks.

Unfortunately, Ford changed the configuration of these trucks mid-way through 2021 models and it required a re-work of the existing setup. I can understand the hesitation in taping into a wire. The nice part about this is they are low amperage draw lights, and the tap is within the cab and out of the elements, so the possibility of failure is extremely low. In fact, we haven't seen a single failure from these yet. The 3M T-Taps are definitely the way to go when you do have to tap a wire.

Hi Chris - On the 2015+ SuperCrew and SuperCab (aka Extended cab) the passenger side rear seat DOES fold forward with a factory pull handle. This is where Ford stores the factory tool kit/ jack. Sometimes the handle gets tucked behind the seat. However, none of the driver-side seats have a factory pull for 2015+ F150's. In that case, there is a great company that sells a release pull handle for the driver side. builtrightind.com/products/builtright-industries-ford-f-series-rear-seat-release-kit But again, this is not needed to install our product since we access behind the seat from the passenger side which Ford started including a pull handle on in 2015+ models. Hi - We do have extensions that plug into the bed lights (both OEM and aftermarket), but the other connector side is designed to plug into our main power harness and will not connect to any factory wiring. Hi Kyle - this kit does not - it is meant to be controlled with your key FOB (on unlock) or with the cargo light button on your headlight switch. Adding the Ford switches increases the cost and requires customers to visit the dealership service center and have the truck reprogrammed. We decided to go the simpler route for those reasons. Josh - we use Deutsch-style DT connectors for these connections. They are considered to be reliable in harsh environments. We have been using these for close to 10 years on various applications in this same area (under the tailgate/ rear bumper). Very rarely have I ever seen failures due to water intrusion, and most of the time that is due to the connector being submerged. These are considered the industry go-to connector for under the truck and many of the big names like Rigid Industries use them as standard. You won't have any issues! Thank you!

Early on (we have a product that fits the 2015-2020 F150 as well) we found the majority of customers don't want the extra complication of the installation or expense. If you want it to truly operate like factory, installing the switch actually requires you to run wiring to the front of the truck (further than we do). Additionally, a trip to the dealership for reprogramming of the BCM is required for OEM functionality. This is how Ford does it in their 2015-2020 kit. They do not currently have a 2021-2023 kit available but may have something for you soon. Good luck!

@@StarkeyProducts thanks, im not pre-wired on my 2020 F-150, but, I saw a video u had up under 2021 and 2022 using the third brake light and was wondering if the same color wire was in there for the 2020 and could hook up the same.

Hi John - it is possible, but unfortunately, we don't have any instructions or adapters to accomplish that because it does not work with many trucks.

Hi - yes it would. The installation and function work the same way on the Lightning as on the other trim F150's.

Hi Joseph - We are currently working on a kit for both the 2017-2019 body style and 2020-2022 body style and hope to have that available soon! I would not recommend this for the Superduty as the configuration is different between trucks.

Hi BJ - On 2021-2022 trucks, the installation is the same regardless and you have to run power from the cab 3rd brake light.

Hey Ralph - Both trucks (Lightning/ Gas) share the same frame, so the wiring routing is the same for either. We show running it along the passenger side frame rail which runs all the way to the truck's rear. The batteries are nestled between the rails, so they do not get in the way of running the wiring. We have many Lightning owners successfully install the kit.

@@dandankert5880 Thanks for the feedback Dan! Glad to hear you were able to connect to the tailgate light. Just be sure to weatherproof that connection to prevent any issues - also it's important to mention that some trucks are not configured with this extra wiring, so most installations will follow the normal process as outlined in the video.

Hi Julio - thanks for reaching out. Right now because of the demand, we aren't running any sales outside of our 10% military discount for service members and veterans. It's not meant to be a punishment, but there have been so many supply issues that when we run a sale, we end up running out of inventory quickly and then get into a backorder situation. Goomby - we do not claim this is entirely plug-and-play, in the product description we disclose the need to tap one factory wire. Unfortunately this is the best way to install the product on the 2021+.
