I was more confused about the undercover agent with only average composure.

Did he claim to be a good undercover agent? Or maybe he was so bad at it no one thought he could actually be undercover so he succeeded. :p

Yup, Malkavians have had their madness... somewhat curbed in. At least the non-sabbat ones. Hence why Dementation is a power under Domination that requires a few levels of Obfuscation, rather than a full path on it's own.

We are still waiting on the W5 corebook, which is apparently in the works. Changeling will be longer as will Mage, Wraith, and Demon. Vampire and Werewolf were always the two most popular lines in WOD.

@@Konuvis Technically it's called an ankh, not a cross, but yes, it is a symbol of life. It is not the Camarilla ankh specifically, so yeah nothing to do with V:tM or the Masquerade :)

I would have taken Auspex and Dominate unless I had a specific plan for the Blood Sorcery.

@@Tletna you have to remember that Thaumaturgy gives rituals and Paths that can recreate almost any other discipline.(caveat in 1st, 2nd, and Anniversary at least.

As this is Jason Charles Miller, the "old" pro in roleplaying, I expect he very much has a specific plan for using Blood Sorcery.

A Tremere without Blood Sorcery is called "Expendable." You are dealing with a Clan that has. Hierarchy based on one's mastery of Thaumaturgy, The Pyramid may have lost its capstone, but it still stands.

@@Cyb3rM1nd Wanted to lean in more with the macabre artistic side of funeral work, but Hecata is definitely a solid pick. Thought of a mortician who feeds on dead bodies that come in to drain them as part of the embalming process.

Malkav always did have a twisted sense of humor.. encouraging a few thin bloods to meet the dawn does seem like his kind of practical joke.

not in Vampire. Only very young and/or highly human vampires are even capable of having sex, much less have any interest in it.

This is going to be starter kit but it is on Alpha behind the pay wall (not sure if it comes onto youtube eventually) this is a series of people (mostly new to game) and have effectively a tutorial series.

Just thought I would mention it you likely know but others may not. :) Some times they do put these shows on KZfaq but well after they appear on the other channels.

You should. White-Wolf system is fun and has a rich backstory. Also there's Vampire: The Dark Ages if you prefer not to have a game set in modern day.

A young politician ...a promising merchant .....an offspring of a once noble family would be a better choice for a Ventrue to sire someone .......power hunger alone is not enough for this elitist clan ..and this only as an exception compared to Vetrue normal targets : rich, famous, powerful.

One's career choices are less important than a person's ambition when it comes to a Ventrue. They are drawn to people who crave power and want more from their place in the world, typically the rich/powerful but not always. Sometimes it can also just boil down to an obsession with the particular person.. like my ex's Tremere character, her biological mother was an occult obsessed researcher that didn't want to let go of her daughter after the Embrace, despite the daughter in life being more the type you would expect to be turned by a Brujah. Knowing my character was suspicious about the whole thing, she called in a boon to have me embraced by a Gargoyle, despite being the more logical Tremere as I was her research assistant in life.

A non-binary, barrista, failed filmmaker. That's pretty far from a Ventrue. A more suitable clan would be Malkavian to add to the madness.

Is it really that improbable? A clan doesn't entrench themselves in the camarilla and not just becoming tools by stirring a pot of blood all night. They know a thing or 2 about power. Controlling a cartel would mean the chantry could acquire rare, illegal and sometimes taboo(at least to kindred) ingredients and relics without relying on someone else. And plenty of gangs/cartels have been known to associate themselves within the occult and paganism real or not. Maybe one day a high ranked cartel member stumbles on to something real...

Also recommend watching Jason Carl GMing LA by Night, he really is a master how to balance the styles of play in V5.

F*^yes. that campaing (and mostly Jason carl GMing) was the thing that lighted the spark to creating my own campaign

LA by Night season 1 is on KZfaq and Season 2 is coming eventually as they finish on Alpha and Twitch.

I'd love to see a professional VTR game with lots of covenant action. G&S's L.A. by Night (VTM5 is pretty damn good). I wish VTR got that much love.

It isn't dead in the water.. they handed over control to Modiphius who was producing the physical copies anyway. They rereleased the Anarch and Camarilla books after clearing the offensive content, I literally just got the new versions. World of Darkness will continue under them.. they have already announced new V5 sourcebooks in the works.

Have you found a group playing the game yet? If not, look up Vampire The Masquerade in your local area. Some groups play at different local places like card shops, comic book stores Or even libraries. Then again VTM has had various Live Action Role Play (LARP) groups spring up in larger cities so that might be something to look up. Or try making a post asking about it in a general forum on one of the many tabletop simulators on PC. If nothing else, the new video game Bloodlines 2 is coming out soon. That might quench your thirst for this world until then. Or watch Vampire the Masquerade: L.A. by Night right here on Geek and Sundry. It's pretty good so far.

Depends what you mean by violent. The 'Alleycat' Predator type is pretty violent as you ambush people. 'Cleaver' type feeds on their family members and usually manipulates & gaslight them into letting you feed or outright taking blood from them. 'Siren' type also can take a violent turn as you feed during the act of Sex. 'Osiris' can also get pretty dicey.

Nah I dint think this was popular enough but they have la by night which is just playing the game with new characters
