Make it spins over with the glow plug out with NO!!!!!!! grinding or clicks. If it is an ABC piston/liner there will be a smooth pinch at the top of the stroke. This normal for a healthy ABC engine. If it is stuck do not try and turn it over. There are way to soften the old lubes if it was not put away properly. Easy to fix. The con rods are not the best in these engines. I always have 2 new ones on hand. As much as I dislike Mecoa, it is the only place to buy parts for these engines that I know of. I wont buy another K&B for that reason. Running a 20% nitro mix and 18-22 %lube these engines will last longer than you need. You will move up if you want to really know what fast is. Beat the crap out of electric, cost money but it smells wonderful!! LOL Thats what its all about! You have tuners and people that run electric.

I will let you know. I’m still looking for two Rossi 80 from the mid 80s to put in my open class twin screw Hydro. Also looking for a Steve Muck mono hull from the mid-80s 85 to maybe 88 it was one of the fastest hull around at that time. I think it would still be really fast nowadays.Would love to put a brushless motor in one.

Hey brother, on nitro boats ya run the idle pretty high due to load when launching. (Least I do) most of the time your wot anyway. As for throw, I make mine as wide as possible then limit through the radio to see how the boat reacts.

Found a 3.5cc rod on ebay made by the same company. Searched: Aero Motor Engines. Looks like MECOA that I think owns K&B might carry them. Good luck.

I use bones 30/10 nitro. Boats tend to like 50% nitro, but I’ve had good luck with 30%
