#bokashi #vegetablegarden This is a follow-up on the video I posted on January 3rd on the status of the Bokashi buckets. I'll post a link to that video below. In this video I set up a new bucket to start filling it with Bokashi, while the other two buckets are full and continue the fermenting process. With the three buckets in rotation, the first bucket to be filled can continue fermenting until the third bucket is filled. The first bucket is then emptied into the compost bin and cleaned to be ready to start filling again when the last bucket is full.
Bokashi allows me to continue composting all winter long, even though it is well below freezing outdoors. Even though the Bokashi compost includes all types of food scraps, including meat, dairy, eggs, and breads, it is of no interest to rodents or varmints once it is dumped into the compost bin. The Bokashi fermenting process removes all attraction to rodents, etc.
If you have not seen the preceding video on emptying the Bokashi bucket and preparing an empty bucket, it can be viewed here: • Bokashi Buckets Update...
