Now that Ahsoka is over, I wanted to take a look back at all eight parts and celebrate the moments both big and small that I loved. This is not a review of the season, just a fun recap of my favorite parts of the series so far!
This video was created during the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike. Without the labor of the actors currently on strike, Star Wars Rebels and Ahsoka wouldn't exist. Learn more about the strike here: www.sagaftrastrike.org/

I actually like how reserved Ezra is when he’s interacting with Sabine and Ahsoka during and after their reunion. It gives me an impression that he’s had plenty of time to meditate, mellow out, or mature while being alone with the hermit crab people on Peridia. Perhaps he’s really excited inside, but he’s doing a good job keeping it in check. And despite really wanting to return home, he does seem to understand that there were a lot of complicated factors that led to Sabine arriving without much of a plan to return home herself, so he takes it in stride.

Marrok's disintegration happened as a reference to a trope from old samurai movies. Sword fighters clash too fast to see who won, and then fountains of blood would spray out of sword fighters moments after they've already been killed. Star Wars just gave us the PG version of that R rated bloody violence.

Seeing this video reminding me of all the good in the show was a nice dose of positivity. There was a lot of good mentioned here, pretty much all of which I agree with, I'll just add some emphasis on one: The two talks between Baylan and Shin in episode 6 were mentioned but one thing I really liked was how those scenes really added some humanity to Shin's character. Baylan had his moments showing depth throughout the first few episodes, but Shin, while badass and cool, only had some glances and facial expressions to add some characterization to her. Her "I know no such stories" line to Baylan, and they way it was delivered by Ivanna Sakhno, instantly humanized the character in a way I didn't expect from such a short line with her later uncertainty about her role only adding on to that.

I think the thing I love the most is the final scene! Hearing "Where the Sun Sails and the Moon Walks" and seeing Anakin's Force ghost are enough to make it a great scene, but what makes it truly stand out to me is how Ahsoka is at peace at the end. I could go on and on about all the ways she has found peace, but what I loved the most is that she has moved on from fighting. As was made clear in Part 5, she has been fighting one fight or another her entire life, so she truly deserves to stop and "choose to live" a full life. It's the culmination of her entire character arc this season, taking all of the lessons she's learned and tying them up in a neat bow. I would love it if Ahsoka's story ends right here and she lives the rest of her life in peaceful retirement while all of the cliffhangers from the series are resolved in other stories without her. Of course, if her story does continue, I would still be happy to see it!

I keep seeing everyone complain about Sabine getting her powers too fast. 2 things re-watch the season & you will see in our galaxy she can't use it. Once they are in the other galaxy with Nightsisters & The Mortis God's status,she can use the force. There is more to it & I'm so very excited for seeing more. Tbh I loved everything about Ahsoka even though somethings most ppl wouldn't think of or thought was stupid they used. Come on there will always be those with power that think they are unstoppable. Palpatine thought he was so powerful until the Skywalkers killed him (even if it was the 1st time).
@bemasaberwyn55
@bemasaberwyn55 8 ай бұрын
I will add to your reply as I have been making this point for weeks while I've been doing a re-watch of Star Wars content in chronological order. If you go back to Trials of the darksaber Kanan admits to Harrah that the one person who keeps getting in sabine's way when it comes to opening up to things like the force is Sabine( to which Hera replies how Sabine is very much Mandalorian). She also replies reminding Kanan how much it took for Sabine to actually trust him and Hera. I very much believe that it wasn't until she was actually on Peridia that those barriers started to break down because she was so close to achieving her goal. If you go back to the episode farfaraway you'll notice that when she is fighting the bandits she does a perfect blast deflection right into the helmet of one of the bandits. Then when the bandits attack with Shin in The Following episode she does more blasts deflections as she starts to work into a rhythm. And once her and Ahsoka come to an understanding not only does she start relying on the lightsaber more and you can see when she saves Ezra from the zombiefied Night Troopers, she does about four blast deflections before the doors are sealed. Her reaching out with the force to grab her lightsaber is just the last key to that puzzle. And at that point I think it's safe to say that she was finally able to let go of everything and focus on the mission at hand which was getting to thrawn in order to stop him. And this is not unlike Ezra using the force against Kallus in the episode droids in distress when he saves Zeb

@SailorMoon07101989
@SailorMoon07101989 7 ай бұрын
@jonathancharron7360 what I'm referring to is not the "planet" but the whole galaxy parallel to ours (or however they describe it) is why she has a stronger connection to the force than the main galaxy. The Mortis Gods had a small area & even then it was only seen by Ahsoka, Skywalker, & Kenobi in Clone Wars. They have statues in the new galaxy. Things are not the same. 2 different galaxies with different rules, history, & understanding of the Force. It's not just about a planet. We have in a way a new galaxy to explore without being locked down by anything before this. Plus Ahsoka could see the Force within Sabine unlike the Jedi Council who would have passed her up. Ahsoka also shares more of the light side due to her connection with the Daughter. It's like if you don't "show" Force abilities at life then you can't be a Jedi. Sabine is a descend of the only Mandalorian Jedi in history. That should mean something even if the Jedi abilities are "watered down".

@@GameTavern2224 Sabine and Ahsoka fell flat, neither expressed much emotion going through the series except maybe during the meeting between Ahsoka and Anakin. So, to me at least, their relationship never really felt genuine throughout the show. Yes this has been said to death but I can't give Andor enough credit for writing characters that makes you feel something even if they're just in 2-3 eps. Writing and directing action is most likely hard af, but that's also something I felt was lacking in the show, the feeling of a real threat towards the characters or the universe itself. We know what Thrawn can do but for viewers who have never read any of the books or watched Rebels he really doesn't come off as the tactical genius or threat to the new republic that he should be. I don't know how popular this is, but I honestly enjoyed Rosario Dawson as Ashoka, I felt like a lot of acting was done with her eyes and in a very subtle manner at the beginning. It made sense she's so afraid of what anakin became, she turned herself into the reason she left the order. And oh my god, baylan skoll and shin Haiti, so damn good. Rip ray Stevenson he did such an amazing job. Huyang was really good and I was so glad to see Ezra and thrawn in live action. Ezra was so good and thrawn's voice was so damn amazing. Lars voice as thrawn just makes the character for me. It just fits. Anakin and Ahsoka in episode 5 was so damn good, I was so excited. I also throught the choreography in the fight scenes were some of the best I've seen in star wars with very smooth and quick combat. This isn't the best star wars show in my opinion, it didn't give me the emotional highs other shows did but I was excited watching every episode and would shout in glee at some of my favourite parts. I do think it suffers a bit because it has to serve as setup for thrawn's return so everything is lined with that. But I had fun, though if I'm being honest, I still think Dave filonis best work is in animation rather than live action, clone wars, rebels, bad batch S2 and takes of the Jedi as examples.anyway, sorry for the long winded comment. Love your videos, you're always positive and actually approach this stuff with a fair view.

I love all our returning characters. Everyone does such a good job, and have so much love and care for their characters. But for me the runaway is Eman. Eman nails Ezra! So much so. This is Ahsoka and Sabine's story arc, and they share a past we're not a part of, so their voices were a little different. And maybe because his point A is more familiar, Eman is literally Ezra. Even his natural voice and vocal inflections is similar.

What I love is this show made Star Wars interesting again. The sense of mystery, wonder and awe are back. The possibilities for new stories this show opened up are endless. As an old EU die hard, suddenly I'm now fully invested in the new cannon. I'm reading the new Thrawn trilogy, the New Dawn book, the comics, all of it, and I'm having a blast. While I'd probably say I enjoyed Andor and Mando season 1 more, Ahsoka has made me fall in love with cannon Star Wars again and I love it for that

Thor: The Dark World 54. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania 55. She-Hulk 32 MCU films 7 MCU TV series (I've seen) 11 SW films 5 SW TV series = 55 All animated stuff excluded because cartoons can remove all logic and rationale. The storyboard for an animated series or film can be completely incoherent and that's fine to little kids watching it with their brains turned off. Not grown up adults looking at every logical conclusion. Perhaps this is where Filoni realized trying to go from animated to live action. Zeb hanging upside-down to grab Ezra while controlling a Tie Fighter with his feet in Rebels S1E2 can be accepted in cartoons by kids. Not in live action. Honestly, live action Thrawn and Sabine don't act smart enough for even SW cartoons. Only a brain cell count higher than Senator Xiono. Sabine is no different to how Peter Quill/Star-Lord acted in Avengers: Infinity War. He let his emotions get to him. Mess up the group's plan of trying to remove the glove from Thanos. Star-Lord and Sabine's plans will only create genocide all because they got emotional for a single character. So I'm currently watching The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon after watching Gen V. I haven't watched TWD since S9 when Andrew Lincoln left the series. I forced myself to watch S8 and S9 so I could see how dangerous the Whisperers were. I figured most fans gave up by S7. Daryl Dixon is pretty good so far and Daryl was my favorite character from TWD S1 to S6 until Negan showed up. Glad AMC finally opened up their wallets. Great cinematography and production values in France. Glad Norman Reedus is an executive producer and has creative control over his character. Here's my issue: It still can be typically slow like TWD became after S3. It had me thinking about Thrawn's army. He's going to be a threat with them? How? They move slower than the living. A single Jedi can kill hundreds of live troopers, you don't think they can't kill more if they're the undead? Why is Thrawn betting everything on the Great Mothers? What if one of them dies? Wouldn't Thrawn be screwed? Zombie army has got to be the stupidest idea. They move like 10 steps per minute. Killing zombies in The Walking Dead has become the worst part. Quick shot or stab to the head. That's it. Wash, rinse, repeat. Just scenes to kill time. The most dangerous in TWD comes from the different groups of people. Killing a horde of zombies is like washing dishes or raking leaves outside. A tedious chore and bore with no tension like Ahsoka fights.

*Loki* *Series* *Finale* *Prediction* OB gets to say wow again to Mr. Owow Wilson. Mobius finally gets to say wow once he gets his jet ski. And I believe Loki and Sylvie will live happily ever after with Thor and Gorr's daughter. Add Valkyrie, Lady Sif, and the hilarious Korg as neighbors. As Classic Loki told Loki, he started missing his brother and Loki will seek to find his brother. We will finally see present-day Thor and 2012 time variant Loki living in peace, harmony, and as one big happy family. Loki will not die alone. He'll fall in love with a variant of himself. Loki, Mobius, and Sylvie will destroy the TVA and get to choose which time they want to live in. They will gain their free will. Love the Thor/Loki cast! Thor Loki (and his different variants) Mobius OB Hela Korg Miss Minutes Valkyrie The Grand Master Lady Sif Heimdall Skurge Actor Loki (Matt Damon) Actor Odin (Sam Neill) Actress Hela (Melissa McCarthy) Odin Frigga Jane Darcy Casey Erik (Luthen Rael in another universe) Gorr He Who Remains Renslayer Zeus and his horny Zeusettes What a great group of likable characters! They keep adding more likable ones unlike Filoni's Star Wars full of boss ladies. Best cast in all of MCU. Better than anything from Iron Man, Captain America, Ant-Man, and Guardians. I actually had a hilarious time with Russell Crowe's Zeus. Add all the great songs like hearing Dio's "Rainbow in the Dark" at the end credits of Thor 4. One of the nicest moments was in Loki S1E6. Maybe it's just me but I kinda thought when we see He Who Remains bite an apple and pour coffee into two cups, it gave me ASMR vibes. So quiet. It was such a nice and cozy episode. I enjoyed the quietness of it all and watching Jonathan Majors acting goofy. I think Thor and Loki will play a role in Secret Wars. We know Tony, Steve, and Natasha are gone but I believe who can carry MCU up to the end of Phase 6 will be Thor and Loki. Thor becoming Rune King Thor will save everyone. Chris Hemworth will make an appearance in the Loki series. I believe the Loki series ends right before we get Secret Wars in 2027. We should all be paying attention to Thor. Spider-Man is not as valuable to fight against Kang if Thor ends up as Rune King Thor. The heroes could reset it if they travel back to right before Sylvie killed the Kang variant. Prevent her from killing him. I know that happened outside the timeline, so perhaps Sylvie is the one to die at the end as she's the one who started it by killing He Who Remains, the nicer Kang variant. Maybe erase her from ever existing. Or maybe Loki and Sylvie die together because Loki can't live without her? They're only time variants. Sylvie isn't likable enough that if she dies, fans will get angry. She's not on the level of an Iron Man. Her popularity is probably no higher than Gamora and I don't remember anybody feeling really sad when Thanos was forced to kill her. Loki series is the key to setting up Secret Wars considering Michael Waldron wrote S1 of Loki, Multiverse of Madness, and is the head writer for Secret Wars. Who knows the future of MCU by this point? We're still 4 years away from Secret Wars. Chris Hemworth might get tired portraying Thor and he may want out of MCU like RDJ and Evans did. But I believe the cast from Loki should be the key as they should be familiar with Kang while Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, and Wanda are already familiar with multiverse. Loki >>> Ahslowka Loki learned to enchant similar to a Jedi mind trick. Loki would lose to a Jedi. His brother could wipe them all out especially if he becomes Rune King Thor who is leagues higher than Hela. Stab wounds by a lightsaber and Force lightning will not kill Hela.

Thrawn's strategy on Peridea was solely because he had an extremely limited amount of resources with no way to resupply. Vader is able to throw lives away because he has an unlimited supply of resources. If Thrawn were to behave like Vader, he'd have next to no resources in the end.

Personally, I loved Ahsoka. It definitely had flaws (i.e. pacing, tension, plot armor) but it truly felt like a sequel to George's Star Wars. Unlike the Sequal Trilogy, this show gave us validation of the prequels, extreme world building, and compelling villains. Dave's ability to pull from legends while using inspiration from the 7th Samurai, all really made this show FEEL like Star Wars.

I think pacing and tension are too subjective to use in a list of flaws. There are other bad things that can happen to a character besides dying. I thought they did very well with the tension through the entire series. I have seen people complain about the pacing, but no one will explain what they mean. Some of the dialogue choices didn't work for me, especially with Ezra. I think it's an artifact of animation writing, and a second pass from another writer could have strengthened it. Hopefully the strikes mean we get more people in the writers room and stronger scripts through collaboration.

Ep. 1. Why do the assasin droids use self destruct when their stated goal is the acquisition of the map? Thus endangering the map. What is rebelious or cool about Sabine leaving a memorial for her friends that sacrificed themselves? Why does Shin wait for a battle with Sabine when she could have run away with the map? Why does everyone survive lightsabers through the gut when they can melt steel doors? Why doesnt Shin just flick her wrist and cut Sabine through? Thats just ep1. Throughout this series there is a mind boggling number of illogical contrivances.
