@@antiquebookcollective on April 12 2024 the silver price was up to around $30 in mid morning trading, but then a huge sell off came around noon to closing bell. Makes me wonder that the "Big Boys" are controlling the prices as their buying or shorting has huge effects.

@@thriftingsisters1226 I know! Not gonna lie, I was excitedly watching it near 30 though. Drawbacks are nice for consolidation, but straight lines up are nice for profits! Lol I'll be curious to see where silver ends up peaking on this cycle. Those far-fetched triple digit calls aren't seeming as impossible with these moves. Did you hear UBS is now forecasting gold at $4,000? Crazy times we're living in.

@@antiquebookcollective Gold is a better buy than silver, but other metals can be a buy as well.

@@thriftingsisters1226 I think you're right for the most part there, silver just has a little bit of a speculative play that I like while having some of the safety of gold. That being said, once I'm out of silver on this cycle, I expect gold will become my largest holding for the future. I'm not on this planet to gamble, I'm here to build things up. Gold will help me do just that. :)

Very interesting moved for your business! I thought about, and wanted to, make a similar move for my own business, but I just couldn't find the inventory at a price I was willing to lay, hence why I shifted to cheaper stuff. @@antiquebookcollective Most mainstream news outlets these days are only there to tell people what they want to hear or what to scare them into doing, not what they need to hear. I always try reading from as many news outlets and independent publishings to disseminate information as accurately as possible, and to get the bigger picture.

@@antiquebookcollective Despite purchasing most of my inventory overseas, I've been able to make my healthy margins even with shipping costs, import fees, and all that extra jazz. There'll be more to share in the future, and considering I joined my first major bookselling organization last year, things look good so far.

Well, during the S&L crisis my family went a long, long time without seeing their money. I don't know about you, but I don't think 25 cents of interest is worth the hardship of being without when my bank fails as I wait for the government to come to my rescue. And no thanks on anything that's at all-time highs. Especially with the current economy where it's at. Things are already rolling over a bit, we'll see if this is the real plunge or not, but I'm battening down the hatches for myself. You dk whatever you want, I was just sharing my perspective on some of the facts I have available. I could, and have, gone kn for hours with more data, but things aren't even faintly as rosy as people want you to think. But you do your thing, I ain't a financial advisor, I'm just here to make money and keep what's mine and keep what money I've made.
