actually, it looks like the Tau and Eldar will be trading places by the end of 10th with the Tau as a middling faction that can't survive a direct confrontation with anyone more significant than them like the Imperium, chaos or the Tyranids but, able to hold their own against contemporaries like individual Necron dynasties or Votann leagues. At the same time, the Eldar as a whole will be relegated to the same status as Craftworld Iyandan.

It could be a three-way civil war as another faction that worship the Goddess Tau'va , a warp entity that is the personification of the Greater Good is starting to rise and could be led by Shadowsun. Its the reason why the Tau from the fourth sphere were massacring the alien auxiliary including the humans, they see the Goddess as an abomination and blamed them for her creation and all the demon attacks.

@@andyaknoby5007 I'm fairly certain she's less a construct of the Tau themselves, and more so a fledgling Warp creation of the faith the auxiliary species of the Tau Empire possess, most notably human additions to the Greater Good. Certain aspects of her body bear a resemblance to the other species within the Tau Empire, and her visage is apparently a blend of Ethereal and human. Not all entities in the Warp are associated with Chaos itself. All entities within the Warp are ultimately nonsentient constructs created from belief and united emotion, with Chaos being the complete corruptions and perversions of such ideals, albeit taken to their utter zeniths beyond the realm of normal comprehension.

Honestly I'd argue the Necron have the best shot of solving both Tyranids and Chaos. And considering how much they infight, they might be the best for solving the Necron threat too.

Every faction is having trouble trying to fight back the hive mind. I highly doubt the idea that the tau are the best chance against the Tyranids.

@@gu8647 Because they have. A bio weapon liquified an entire hive fleet, surface to orbit. The development happened while Farsight and seven others held off a horde.

nah, they entered the galaxy just as all other factions are killing each other of and with them all out of the way, the Tau empire will spread and conquer the stars :)

That's why they added some Nuance to that whole "Greater Good" shtick. There is no good guys in 40k

You literally cannot survive in 40k without giving up your own personal agency the only exceptions were the emperor and the primarchs.

you see they had to make the tau suck so that they can sell more space marines, everyone loves the space marines and their 'brings up calculator'... oh boy that's a lot of chapters. And you cant have your ultra epic super soldiers for big boys kill the only actual faction of good guys, so they're not good guys anymore. It sucks, but nothing in life lasts

Yeah the golden age can only last so long. Personally I think this marks a point in their development where they will drop the more naive nature and we will see the Tau become more aggressive. I just hope they keep their kind dispositions and keep working towards a better galaxy.
