Somehow I'm not too fond of this episode, so no WhiteWithBlackBorder text on the thumbnail, and no "Deepest" etc. title. Anyway, the message still is: BUY THE GAME! Do it!
- BETA: Source code editor is now much more wide!
- BETA: Phase change diagrams now have full size crosshair and labeling!
- Stacker auto-adjusting size depending on where we stand :D (PATENT PENDING;)
- Stacker at printer turning on/off automatically INCL ejection!
- Heavy cables after the Station Batteries, airlock and station on separate networks (Transformer!)
- Some lights turning off during the day since it's bright enough
- Small light turning on while we're outside (all others off).
- Changing day length via console from 0.3 to 0.06 (5 times as long, so 100 min instead of 20)
- Making a clock to (hopefully) allow plant light automation despite the LONG day/night cycle
(Dude, was I on the cussing bus this time. Also ... a lot of the later video is me blundering around trying to make the clock. Which may have succeeded, it's too early to tell. E5 spoiler: Kinda. But was solved then.)

I'm at 1:39:18 while writing this. Regarding the clock: - why not use a tick counter? Even if time between ticks is varying it should be good enough for the growing light. - If there are trigonometry functions why not multiply the horizontal angle by the time factor and use the sin of that with a threshold?

Tick counter: True! And that's what I eventually resorted to in the next episode (E5). It's really simple and even reliable if the registers are not being initialized, because their values are persistent between code changes / export / chip removal&plugin / save&load. This is so simple and easy that I even reuse that in a second room later in the series. Horz angle: Sounds like a good idea, but I just investigated: The range from -180 to 180 (Which I could adjust to 0 to 360.) isn't traversed evenly, it slows down and accelerates strongly, so I don't see how I could turn it into a 5 section (20100 minutes) statement for the clock.

@@OwnerOfTheCosmos the acceleration of hory angle sounds like a bug. Unless the a axle of the planet is tilted. Then the vert angle should have a anti proportional acceleration. And you should be able to math the sh*t out of it to get to the rotation. But a tic counter is much simpler than that.

@@OwnerOfTheCosmos maybe two water tanks where you pump the contents from one to the other and vice versa would provide a more in-game less power hungry version of a "pendulum"?

@@ralfw7463 Yep, that was roughly the angle I had in mind, that would do it. Or a gas tank, possibly better since it doesn't off-gas and thus has reliable behavior. ---- Regarding the horizontal sun angle: That wouldn't be a bug, I mean, hold up a finger and use the other hand to rotate around it with another finger, but the circle is diagonal. You get a sinus-like angle in the vertical *but also* in the horizontal.

calm down, tell ppl if they can play the game w/o coding ? how much time someone has to put into - in my opionion too much, such low level language today and for beginners ? sucks!

they can..atleast 500 hours for scrap the surface, not really just know how your devices working..its true or false

i play solo almost 3 year and still today i try to learn something..every day u will improve your skills....so i my opinion its the big part..no tutorial or just an idea..i love it...its a great simulation

You can surely play without coding, but playing entirely without *automation* isn't easy. I mean ... what do you want to achieve? A Moon base where you can breathe and where your plants grow and you can drink? No automation required. Depending on how deep you want to go into the game, you will feel the hard need for some automation. And then ... ... you can use Logic chips (Meaning: NO programming.) to make that happen.
