Simplification of thought and movements was a concept i stumbled across watching my son begin to walk as a toddler. He would take these little jerky very uncoordinated steps. Often with several little unneccesary preparatory movements, like getting READY to take the step. And it hit me. We all start out learning to do things in that way and if we continue on with a skill, we remove the unnecessary parts and streamline the action down to the essential parts. I started looking at my own life with that understanding and found a lot of places where i needed to quit getting ready to do things or uncoordinatedly doing things, and just focus on efficiently getting it done. That mindset has made a HUGE difference.

Preoccupied with a single leaf you will miss the tree, Preoccupied with a single tree you will miss the entire forest. To see everything in its entirety effortlessly is what it means to truly see.

Seeing this guy on an actual battlefield must have been both awe inspiring and terrifying. My first thought would be, “Okay, first off, stay away from the human blender guy over there..” only more poetically and in Japanese.

You wouldn't know who he is. Unless u met him before. Remember there was no social media it's not like all of Japan just knew this guy when they saw him. Lol. There are no pictures of him all over the internet like people today. So I'm sure many people had no clue who he was 😂

@@swappedoutZ71 It was sort of a rhetorical comment. Plus, despite popular belief, word did actually get around before the ole interwebs. That and the whole, he probably looked like a human blender thing. Don’t overthink it boss. It was just for the funnies.

@@swappedoutZ71 Kid, it was a lighthearted comment not meant to be taken seriously. I mean, you can if you’d like, be my guest, but you’d be wasting your own time. However, I guess I’ll play one more round. In this case, he’d be the only one fighting with two swords, which was the “word” on the block (i.e. Japan) regarding his fighting style.

Thank you for guiding me back to this path. I have always struggled with consistency, but I always found the works of stoicism and similar philosophies amazing. I want to be an author and to treat it with discipline and joy. Thank you for your time and for reading this. “Life before death, strength before weakness, journey before destination”-Sanderson
