One of the best ways to experience the real Japan is to stay at a Minshuku, or Japanese Bed and Breakfast in the countryside. This is our experience staying overnight at a farmer's home in Odate Noshiro in Akita Japan.

I LOVED this episode! What a beautiful, sweet couple. They looked so welcoming, and their home was so comfortable. It’s true shinichi, when you eat food that has been grown locally or by a farmer, it tastes different. There’s love, hard work and a lot of sweat and early mornings in getting the food to the table. I was particularly fascinated by the first meal, when Satoshi took the coals out of the fire and then the fish and rice was cooked at a separate fireplace. Keep it up guys, I love these kinds of shows where you show the true Japan.

Wow! Which heartwarming gesture...you can’t appreciate enough of their humbleness of kindness...so much respect for their customers. This video made me cry because they gave soo much happiness to others. Why can’t we go back to live in a respectful way of kindness...with all the crimes that are senseless done to kill others,....why can’t the bad realize that life is precious. I love those couples..life for them is grateful to share

What a wonderful experience! Thank you so much for sharing it with us. My husband and I live in the center of the continental US. My father visited Japan in the 1950s as part of his US Navy service. While he was there, he purchased a traditional Japanese doll, which he gave to my mother. Years later, I would take out that doll and just look at it, and dream of what life must be like in the country where it had been made. All of these many years have passed, and I still have not visited Japan. I am very interested in rural and village life in the country of Japan. It is my dream that one day I will be able to visit. Until then, I must be satisfied with reading about it, looking at photos, and watching videos on KZfaq ;-) ありがとうございます
