Hi Nikki. You probably know this but when you are in Reno and hike Evan’s Canyon area, the coyotes are pretty bad. Aggressive and don’t display typical coyote behavior (run when they see humans). They have followed me and my dogs on trail runs, and have gone after me and my dogs. I carry bear spray with me now and try to avoid the trails at sun up and down. I realize that where you woke up wasn’t Reno but since you are spending more time in the area, just wanted to give you some information.

Nicky, I think you should get a jump box to carry with you. You go to some VERY remote locations, if your battery should die and you don’t gave service to call someone, what would you do? You can get a very compact box, and they don’t cost a lot- the one I have for my little Honda was only around $25-and I’m sure they make the kind that charge via solar. It surprised me that you don’t already have one, especially with all the places you went in the little car! Camper is SO SMART! It was nice to see him so excited to pull up at your friend’s. With all the places he travels it’s really amazing that he remembers so many people and places. I hope the puppies had, or are having so much fun! I wish I had my van already! Aside from the dogs, the beautiful desert scenery is the biggest reason why I watch Nikki's vids. I love all those places. My home airport is BWI. When I fly, I park in a lot called The Fast Park. They're very inexpensive - under $12 per day - and close to the terminal. They require a shuttle bus ride to get to the terminal, but the busses run fast, and they pick you up and drop you off right at your car, generally within five minutes of your arrival - no trudging to a bus stop to wait a half hour for a crowded bus that makes thirty stops. They also offer free jump start service. They're only at 15 airports in the US, but expanding.

A battery that is at about 50% DOD will freeze around -13°F (-25°C), and at a 75% DOD it will freeze at about 9°F (-13°C). You can get a small portable car jumper that works so well. I think everyone should carry one. It's a powerbank thats rated for high Amps with the appropriate clips, simply connect it up and then swing it, once started you can disconnect and recharge for next time. It's a real lifesaver!

I'd highly recommend a battery booster, which is like a portable car battery that can jump start a car with a dead battery. About $100, it charges by USB. I make sure mine's charged up every few months, which only takes a few hours while driving. Ti jump start your car you just plug the jumper cables into it, attach it to the battery and start the car. So much easier and faster than calling AAA. Plus, you would have a backup power supply for all your USB devices when away from the vehicle.

Hi im from Ontario Canada van camper

I know I'm late to watching this video and all but I wanted to tell you about car jumpers! You've probably heard about em and if you don't have one yet I highly recommend one! It's a battery pack that will...you guessed it give you a battery jump start. There are many sizes depending on how big your engine is and if you have multiple batteries you just need to put it on your main starter one. The one I have is rated for a bigger liter engine than I have but I use it as peace of mind that it will be able to start my car. Just make sure you pay attention to the details on liters for gas vs diesel engines. Hopefully this helps and gives you peace of mind for when you long term park.

I have trouble with losing things, but then again I'm 63, I bought myself a little label maker & have a spot for my Wallet, a place to hang my Keys, everything, especially the most important items have a place & then I make a nice sized easy to read label to go on it so I can easily see it & I make sure when I come in from outside any of those items goes right into it's proper place, I just got tired of all the lost time spent on searching for things.

Welcome to Reno. I have enjoyed watching your videos because I live in Reno and Tahoe. Love to see your adventures in my state. I have to laugh when you say below temperatures. Usually this temperature at night is 30 degrees. I lived in Toronto Canada those nights get way below temperatures -10. Living there was to cold for me that is why I moved back to my hometown reno.

i want to travel in the summer but i will not go to nevada for obvious reasons. i’ll probably travel to half moon bay or carmel by the sea! this is inspiring. Nikki you should make a favorite beach and forest spots etc. for us!

You can most likely jump your car from your house battery! I do it in my van whenever my main battery dies. Since the negative terminals are connected, all I have to do is connect the positives through my van with one jumper cable. Super easy!
