I'd put a Weil in and balance the outputs with double drop headers for more dry steam.The hartford loop looked screwed up too. You have to blow-down those model 67's weekly..the bellows clog mid-season if you don't flush.

If it’s worth anything to anyone who has a crown boiler, we’re on our 3rd heat exchanger for a steam boiler installed in 2005, for residential use. I don’t think a compromised heat exchanger in a crown boiler is uncommon.

If that boiler’s for use in the baking process that’d explain it’s short life. Having to do that and constantly taking in make up water lost in the baking process would be hard on any boiler.

My 1949 American Standard steam boiler oil fired was replaced in 2013. 64 yrs young, and nothing wrong with it. Converted to gas and hot water. I wonder if the replacement Burnham series 2 will last the same 😂.

I dont think the "steam" is being used for proofing directly, at least I hope not. While possible, proofing takes place at much lower temps, with sometimes higher humidity. That aside, if it was used directly to convert to steam, the temps would be too high, and also this boiler would have died a long time ago- the gunk bucket would be substantially dirtier. Think about the gallons of water needed per day, and all the mineral buildup and crap... you'd have to drain and flush daily!
