As the warmer weather arrives, the Great Central Railway welcomed back the public to their rails once again, as the easing of lockdown restrictions has made running passenger services achievable once more.
Over the course of the day, 9F - 92214 made three return trips from Quorn and Woodhouse to Leicester North. Between each return service, the 9F worked the coaching stock north to Loughborough in order to run around the set, as well as allowing for the inside of the coaches to be sanitised. Originally, there was meant to be a fourth return trip. However, this was cancelled as to not clash with the funeral of The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Phillip. 6990 "Witherslack Hall" was also on display in the yard at Quorn and Woodhouse station, along with a few classic vehicles.
As soon as the day started, the GCR ran into problems; a track circuit failure south of Quorn and Woodhouse, resulted in the Advanced Starting signal failing to be set to clear. This is the reason for the service coming to a halt in the opening sequence.
