This is my short maiden flight with the 3D printed Stearman PT-17 from 3DLabPrint.
She flies so well. I love this biplane! CG and rudder throws were right on spot for the first try. I didn't even have to touch the trims! That's amazing!
Unfortunately one of the tyres exploded during the touch 'n' go. xD
Now it's time to put the decals on...
Some details:
Motor: 35-42 1100kv
Prop: 11x5,5 E APC
ESC: 60Amps
LiPo: 3S 2450mAh
Takeoff weight: 2138grams
Rudder throws: Elevator 15mm up 10mm down, Ailerons 18mm up 15mm down, Rudder full 35mm. Expo 30% for all
All parts before CG printed with 0.40mm line width and more wall counts where it makes sense.
All fuselage parts behind CG, tail parts and all wing parts printed with 0.32mm line width, to save weight and help to get the CG right with the need of less lead.
All motor parts printed with 100% infill to get the max weight out of it.
CG balanced with a vanessa rig, elevator stabilizer leveled. CG is @ 86mm behind upper wing LE.
Added lead....only 60grams. Yeah! xD
I have read that some have had to pack more than 400g of lead into their Stearmans, even with bigger batteries. Pew...
